With that chin Joe wouldn't NEED to be a massive puncher, whereas Tommy could hit Cal's chin and nothing would happen. The wierdest Hagler freaks are even more stupid than his ordinary fanboys. These muppets think that Hagler who couldn't even knock over little Roberto, is gonna knock out Calzaghe. A new level of idiocy, most of them must be Muricans.
funny since Floyd Sr. accomplished nothing in boxing other than getting stopped by SRL, if he could have fought as amateurish as Calzage he may have been a successful pro
and Joe was 37, lets not forget that Lacey was considered an animal and favored over JC and Kessler was a top guy and a favorite and I think he beat Hopkins very convincingly especially after B-Hop started faking a foul on a few occasions to bide time and possibly steal a break, it was evident B-Hop was trying to rest or steal something because he needed to bide some time
So would I. Joe is seriously overrated and I think loads of Hagler victims would beat him. Hearns, Hamsho, Minter, Sibson, Fully Obel and co would all give him trouble and are certainly better than Manfredo, Lacy and Brewer! ****ing hell, this is like the twilight zone! How can people not see the difference in quality between Hagler and Calzaghe?
Oh please start a thread saying Duran to beat Calzaghe. Trust me I am one of, if not the biggest Duran fan on the net. However I could never be stupid enough to pick Roberto in a h2h with Joe. Now back on topic. For the benefit of all the moronic Hagler fanboys here. Hagler has got NOTHING to BOTHER Calzaghe. Not speed, not strength, not power, not workrate, not skill, not ring generalship, NOTHING, NADA, sweet fvck all. It might have bothered all those bugs, earwigs, bums, and naturally smaller, weaker guys he fought, but not someone like Joe Cal. Calzaghe on the other hand has got everything to bother someone as small, slow, comparitively weak, and one dimentional, and limited as Hagler. LITTLE Roberto showed the limitations of the fvcking idiot, which is why Leonard waited 3 more years until he thought it was safe enough to try himself.
Hagler did not have the speed, strength, power, workrate, skill, ring generalship to bother Joe Calzaghe. Right. That's why he's pretty much a unanimous top 3 middleweight in the eyes of the overwhelmingly vast majority. Everybody is wrong. Calzaghe beats Hagler. Ok :!:
I think Tommo is back to trolling. Hagler is better in every department: faster hands, better chin, harder puncher. Hagler would dismantle Joe, who is good but not great.
Quite often the worrying thought to comes to mind, that some people actually believe these guys could live in the same ring as established ATG's. A lot of it is based on the extremely deceptive and skewed records of these guys. Yes Joe went undefeated in 50 odd fights...about 3-4 of which were against topflight opponents. It's all a bit sad, really Calzaghe....quite a good fighter but would have been a footnote to boxing history in days gone by. Nothing more
firstly, Duran is miles better then that slapping ****** secondly, who did calzaghe fight that could hit as hard as hearns? You think hearns would hit him and 'nothing would happen'? are you on crack?
