Another moron/troll who thinks you have to have your eyes locked on your target in order for the punch to not be "lucky".
:think I don't why people are reacting with such knee jerk reactions. I admittedly like Paul Williams. I know the first was really really close and it could have easily gone the other way. This fight Paul Williams didn't use God given talents. He was stupid for dropping his right hand and trying to lead with a left hook. His chin was up "saying please hit me here." Martinez punch was beautiful in almost every way. Timed perfectly. Perfect torque. Correct angle... But he didn't even see the punch land. His head was far ahead of his punch. The man's face was facing the ground and his eyes closed. :bart
Aren't you the same guy that runs 6 miles in about 25 minutes, yet in the entire England there is maybe one person that can do it, and it's not you?
The bold part is absolutley correct. I do not agree with the thread starter, but I also do not believe that a fighter who could at least spell defense would get caught by that shot. It was pretty wild. PDub brought it on himself.
Definitely not a hail mary, if you look at the tape you can see how he set him up by turning him a little before throwing that punch. Even if it was a hail mary, he did set him up for it by turning him a little before throwing it.
100% correct. I can't believe people are trying to call that a lucky punch. It makes me think that people don't even pay attention while watching.
Lucky punch ???? Na. Williams was wide open. Chin was right there and Martinez couldnt miss. Like taking candy from a baby. And I had him winning the 1st round. Williams isnt that tough after all.
I saw that punch get close to landing a few times, and in round one he landed some nice punches on Williams. I don't think this was a hail mary punch. He threw it a few times seeing how Williams kept his right low.. We have a great sport here, but even the greats like Duran and Hearns have been hit and knocked out clean. There is no disgrace in being knocked out. And Hearns and Duran came back and won more titles. We know Williams is not as great as Hearns and Duran, but he might come back and win a title.
nah he has shown that over 12 rounds there isnt much difference. he has now shown he can end paul with one punch.
The only thing "Wide" was Williams...he was wide open. Williams saw the other 8 shots to his head....he didn't see the shot that KO'd him, and anyone who knows boxing will tell you it's the shots you DON'T SEE are the ones that get you. Even Williams admitted this in the post fight interview...he said he never saw it.
Matinez practiced that punch on training for sure. He used it many times in the fight. The problem was that Paul had his hands so low that a big KO is just waiting to happen for him. ALWAYS defend yourself at all times.:good
