Cheers, TempleGarden. Btw, I bet you're like me in that you always check to see what matches are scheduled well in advance of the wifey going out of town, lol! Then you throw in things like, "Boo, you sure you have to go this weekend" when it's a friday fight night and you're doing a fist pump in your head when she says, "yes", LOL! Even if no big fights on tap, you still have the archives on Calzaghe, Toney, Hopkins, Sweet Pea and Hall vs. Power II lol. Oh the life of a fellow boxing degenerate!!!
Actually I have a diary that has all the big/main fights that I want to see right up until the end of the year I even have a notebook with all my scores on them as well She's usually in bed around 12am anyway so I get the computer to watch the fights or download. I watch the download one's when she doesn't need the computer, and if a German card is on I normally tell her I need the computer for a few hours. When comes to Sky fights I either record or watch them live, but mainly live, if its a box office event then I will only pay providing its a top fight, if not then its back on the computer. She doesn't mind either way, but if she's away for the weekend then its a major boxingfest after I've watched my fitba team play with a few beers!
I sensed you were a fellow ultra die-hard. :good With me i always fill like Oscar when he signed Calzaghe promotions (like a kid in a candy store with an unlimited allowance) If you recall GBP was 95 percent there in signing Calzaghe Promotions in a joint venture. This would've increased Golden Girl's revenue like 3 fold as they would've bridged the gap between US and UK mega fights. As we know Joe retired and his promotional company went belly up. I say i always feel similar when i get my boxfest moment, because more often then not the offering on the menu is a wild animal like Captain Huck or Dappa Napa quitting on us. lol Speaking of De La Hoya, I was so happy to see Manila Ice give him a going over, especially when 99% of people thought the cross dresser would catch Manny with a left hook and air the wee man out within 7! sweet wasn't it...:yep Btw, would i be right in saying you're relatively new to this section of the forum? well let me be the first to welcome you aboard to the "slickest" and best "knee bending" forum on ESB and the net. Welcome my friend and thanks for breaking the story on Hall/Power II being put up on the SS website!
I moved over here from the Scene, mainly because of the moronic posts and the virus' that were on that site. I normally spend the majority of my time on this part of the forum, sometimes I get drawn into arguements with the Yanks on the General, I'll refrain from saying too much more about that, but it isn't as bad as it was on the scene. Current favourite fighters include: Mikkel Kessler Manny Pacquiao (not a fanboy though) David Haye (but needs to get his finger out, will lose a lot of respect for him if he fights Harrison) Paul Appleby JM Marquez Tim Bradley Amir Khan George Groves Frankie Gavin Curtis Woodhouse Michael Katsidis Fighters i'm keeping a close eye on: Carl Frampton Jose Benavidez Nenad Borovcanin Vernon Paris David Lemieux Matt Korobov Wilfredo Vazquez Jnr.
