As much as I'd love Haney to lose this. Romero is perfect for Haney sadly. I think Shakur is probably the only fighter around the LW/WWs that beats Haney to be honest. Garcia 50/50.
Oh please. Tank Davis knocked out Rolly when he was unbeaten. Tank Davis knocked out Garcia (who beat the crap out of Haney) when Garcia was unbeaten. Tank Davis knocked out Mario Barrios, who Garcia just outpointed, when Barrios was unbeaten. The top of the welterweight division is basically a collection of guys Tank Davis beat or knocked out when they were undefeated. Shakur might be able to beat them, too. But Davis has already beaten them.
You're just describing a massive triangle theory. And triangle theories don't work too well in boxing. Gervonta could beat Haney, but we know Gervonta struggles against boxers, has had very lucky decisions in his favour in the past and is currently AWOL fresh off a shocking performance. And it looks like he may stay AWOL for two years.
It's not a triangle theory. Davis knocked out Garcia. Davis knocked out Romero. Davis knocked out Barrios. If someone says I think only Shakur and can beat all those guys, Davis already beat practically all of them.
Garcia vs Haney would be one of the lowest skill matchups ever seen for an undisputed fight. Can't actually think of a worse one off the top of my head.
Romero is tailor made for Haney, and the weakest titleholder at 147. I imagine that's why Haney chose him. I'd prefer Haney fought Stevenson or moved up to 154 to fight Ennis.
Prefer the Garcia rematch but I'm okay with this too tbh, as long as the Ryan fight comes immediately after
