Yeah, the fact that he was almost beaten by a light-hitting guy moving up from a lower weight division is further proof how overrated Taylor is.

He doesn't need to retire. He needs to stop pretending he's good enough to beat world class fighters and be the gatekeeper he was meant to be.

Taylor still has a shot at doing well in the Super Six Tourney and one concussion isn't going to kill him. He can probably end up getting a couple more and still get licensed by comissions.

he isnst as good as hbo were saying. but he is expereinced and does some good manuvas. his jab and move to th eleft is the best thing in his arsenal but once he stands flat footed he bends over drops his left hand and keeps his right near his plexus....rediecluas you cannot get away with that unless you are using your agility which he doesnt have.

but he can punch, has a decent skill set, knows what he is doing and is the only fighter in the tourney to be ranked the highest p4p (for the right or wrong reasons).

I was saying that JT needed to hang em up for a while now. Not for his "lack of skill" or what not, but because he keeps getting KTFO. Can't be good for his brain. I don't want this guy to be a vegetable by the time he is 35. People who want him to fight on are just ****ing self centered and only concerned about their entertainment.

Not much, because Taylor's supposed "victories" over him were gift decisions.

Hopkins subsequent performance has shown just HOW much better a fighter he is than this HBO hype job.

Taylot is competetive in Super Six.He won't win but showed well enough to go 11 with both Froch, who he was beating and gave AA a go,although losing at the time of stoppage.

so a show of hands. who thinks he should retire. some here would see a journeyman lose in round 1 and say hang 'em up. same to a world class fighter after 4 bad fights.

actually whats the right time to retire? i think thats the main question.

it makes sense for jermain to retire now. but he still has some winnable fights. and he is penned to fight th ebest guys in the division...he cant go wrong if he stays in the game. he is doing it for the money....but he has to consider that he hasnt got long left.
