Well, he never lost the title in the ring so technically he is if the new WBU claims the lineage of the original. Not that it matters anyway!

Prizefighter again? I'm not sure what that will achieve. Being based in the UK but not eligible to fight for the British, Commonwealth or European titles it's difficult to see what Choi can go for apart from the second tier world belts. I'd like to see him fighting for one of the inter-continental belts from the main four sanctioning bodies so he can pick up a top-15 ranking. I can't see him getting a title fight though...

 

He was meant to be fighting for a WBA bauble before the pull-out tonight.

 

I know but i don't think the WBA Pan-Asian trinket would do the trick. He's such a frustrating boxer to follow because he never seems to get the breaks he deserves. I guess it's just a case of too much risk and too little reward for his opponent...

 

what happened in the Choi fight?

 

Choi was just a different class to the lad and overwhelmed him. Had him down a couple of times before the ref stopped it in the second.

 

I know Spencer and Ciaran Baynes have been in talks with Billy Dibs people.

 

I think that would be a winnable fight for Choi, but Dib is scheduled to defend his IBF title next month according to Boxrec.

 

the mitchell fight was brilliant fella's from inside the arena the whole crowd was swinging hooks. i felt Qato just nicked his fight but was nip and tuck. the Hamilton fight was poor tbh i expected so much more but got impression maybe Ryan froze?. Tv and all that..

 

Just out of his depth.

If you can't cope with a much shorter man with a stubbier wing-span jabbing your face in from the outside and bullying you to the ropes to tie you up and whack you downstairs despite showing fairly little power...you're not apt to hold on long to even a trinket like the "British Masters light welterweight title".

 

where do you see Hamilton going from here mate?. he stepped off and boxed the right fight (for winning points wise) but from within the arena a better fighter would of sensed Ryan didn't fancy it and would of pushed the issue. Ryan looked weak as **** and i just felt Darren could of kept punching when inside to try stop Ryan's persistent holding. in saying that Hamilton should stick at that level for a couple of fights.

 

Definitely agree. The interviewer was out of order even suggesting Hamilton go straight on to Theophane IMO. That would be a mismatch at present.

Maybe tool around the domestic level for a few defenses of that Masters thing, and then step up against Wright for the English title.

 

cheers mate. i left the arena when ref raised Hamilton's hand. tbh felt like leaving in round 4 it was one of them fights you just knew the pattern and sensed no change.

Theopane vs Hamilton.....ugly as **** fight with Theopane winning rather easily. Andy Kerr if you wasn't such a good fella i'd have a moan .
