I put in all this bother arguing the Gassiev side and yet Briedis has no backers anyway.

I thought about it and still picked Gassiev. That doesn't mean that I don't think Briedis hits hard, but the question asked who was the harder puncher, and I think it's fairly clear from fights we've seen of both men.

Briedis has nice fast hands, and good technique, but Gassiev just has bone rattling power that you can see having major effects on opponents. The only fighter at CW I'd rank higher on a pure power basis is Kudryashov, but Gassiev has way better delivery.

I wouldn’t say he’s a liar,Canelo nullified Golovkin as he was always on the move, even on the ropes Canelo was hard to hit flush but the few big shots he did take did effect Canelo.
So many Cruiserweights who’ve sparred with Golovkin have all said the same thing re his power,I’ll get slated for this but if I was to guess it’s because he’s not juicing.

Gassiev hits harder for sure and what’s scary going off what Michael Montero was saying in his post fight review about Gassiev is that he wings his punches with a bent arm and according to Montero if he’s gonna have any chance against Usyk then he and Abel Sanchez are gonna have to sit down and view the fight and work on him extending his punches more as Usyk won’t allow him that range he’s been at where he hooks his punches.

If Gassiev shown anything it’s his ability to learn with each fight and get better, his fight with Lebedev I actually had a draw as Lebedev was amazing in the last half of the fight which was so impressive as it looked like he was being hurt badly by every punch early on.
Such a shame Lebedev didn’t enter this thing as he still as something to offer I think.

Unfazed? I saw Jacobs and Canelo both stop him from running through them like he does most of his opponents. Golovkin has a great chin but he is responsible with it too.

Now, follow-up question, if we all can agree that Gassiev punches harder:

Given that, and given the many clean uppercuts that Briedies was able to connect on Usyk....does Gassiev stand a chance of doing the unthinkable and putting the Ukrainian horizontal?

Well that loon thinks Briedis punches harder, per the poll, so his opinions have to be considered pretty fringe. :D
