Anyone that wants to study the left hook should go buy Floyd Patterson's career DVD.

Ain't nothing quite like his left hook :think

One of my favorite all-time left hookers is Tommy Morrison. He had the perfect body mechanics to get full leverage on his hooks.

Shannon Briggs & Wladimir both double & triple up the left hook, sometimes starting at the body & working up to the head.

Explain how it's easily the strongest left hook in heavyweight boxing with characters as David Tua and Lamon Brewster who are known for their left hooks? :think

I think thats why he has his left hand low,so he can launch it with much more momentum and speed as Barret found out.

How about the Ruddock Smash, ya-ni ?

It's an uppercut/lefthook, surely harder than anything Wladimir Klitschko throws, let alone his left hook.

wlad to use hooks for the short version without the proper use of force and yet it has a sleeping impact. His straight is often too short too without the proper use of force and still very impressive. Reason for short punch are maybe to defence self to get not hit..

Wlad load his right at the time 0:37...and there was gloves between punch and mercer was still injured badly..same thing is in his hooks, but mostly(almost always)they are very short and ongoing caution

brewster has hard left hook but he has to land a few b4 the guy goes down.

the heaviest/ most powerful left hook in boxing p4p is David Tua! NO DOUBT.

I don't think Wlads left hook is the hardest left hook out there, but his right strait may be the hardest right strait in history. Don't get me wrong, its pretty nasty and powerful. I agree with the poster saying that morrison problaby had the most powerfull in history. It was downright brutal.
