There is no way he can really, he said just last week that Haye's credibility would be shot to bits if the fight came off. Then again, the article isn't exactly saying that Haye has offered the contract to Audley, maybe I'm just in denial desperately praying for it not to happen that I won't really believe it until contracts are signed and the fight is announced, If it happens, they will most likely stick it on the same night as Mayweather-Pacquiao so they can put a double extravaganza on, so people would buy it.
If Haye signs for this fight, how many fans will he lose? None. Because most of his followers don't care what bum Haye picks, they'd happily pay 14.95 quid PPV to see him work the heavybag.
Here's the tiny difference. Vitali had no better opponent available to him. Haye on the other hand could fight either Klitschko towards the end of this year, if he only wanted to. Even considering Harrison is downright criminal for Haye and Booth.
Hmm, maybe. But the purists would want better - and rightly so. This would be a step back for Haye and there are better fights available for him even if he doesn't fight a Klitschko. Nothing would give me greater pleasure than to watch Harrison talk up so much interest in himself and how that his dream is about to come true, only to get stopped in about three rounds. The only interesting part for me is just how Haye beats him - not whether he does. Haye and Booth can't really laugh off Harrison only to then fight him. It's all speculation at this stage - lets see what happens over the next few weeks.

That's probably true but I can't recall such a blatant duck in recent HW history. His chances of beating Wlad are fairly slim but still Haye's fear of him is simply ridiculous. I consider Haye a pretty good heavyweight and an okay beltholder compared to Ruiz, Rahman, Peter and so on. His skills are really good, his speed can even be considered great, his power and offensive skills impressive and his athleticism beyond controversy. How can a boxer that gifted have such little faith in his own capabilities? If he does not believe that he can win then he does not have the mentality of a champion. Furthermore IMO Haye acts a little paradox. On the one hand it looks like he cares for his good record (24(22)-1-0) since he's apparently evading his second loss by ducking Wlad but on the other hand he fails to improve his legacy by fighting C-level opponents like Harrison. David haye fails to see that a loss against one of the top five H2H HWs ever (despite Wlad losing every match in the classic board 2009/2010 Wlad is a beast H2H) is more of an achievement than KOing a bum in round 1.
I heard the same nonsense last year before the Valuev fight and yet here we are wondering why Haye is still not willing to fight the Klits.
Worst thing of all, you can bet that Haye's camp will have... squeezed in that contract a rematch clause, just in case AH gets lucky.

This guy said it right a few pages back, but everyone's ignoring it! That article may as well have been entitled: 'Absolutely No News Today On Haye's Next Opponent'. Or... 'Harrison Wants To Fight Haye, But Haye Is Ignoring Him' I've read nothing to suggest that this fight is anything more than a remote possibility. I think it's very, very unlikely to happen.
