    Agree with this :deal

I'd love to see Ricky involved in sat night domestic scraps against the likes of Mitchell/Rees/Murray/Harrison. It's not like it's akin to the Calzaghe route, all those fights would be tough, make money and most important they would be quality tear ups.

He ain't beating Broner any time soon so may as well have a bit of fun.

Why isn't he beating Broner? Why the **** is Broner special? Broner is very much a beatable fighter for Burns.

The fight is probably 50/50 that John will have 3 losses in a row. It's not a good look on the record of a fighter who is still relatively young. I want to see the fight but it's not the right time for either fighter at this stage. Scott needs a couple of more fights against lesser opponents, Murray needs a comeback fight. Only after this would it be the right time.

Sometimes the trainer does a better job at looking after a fighter than a manager does

    :rofl

    Eversen
    Layrea
    Nicky Cook
    Moses
    Mitchell next...

Has Burns fought a mandatory? or even a genuine top 10 lightweight?

Murray or Harrison is a joke fight, Murray has not fought for how long? and is coming off a savage beating and is euro level at his very best...

And Harrison is a recovering alcoholic and has spent most of the past six years in jail, had 1 fight in 6 years and you are ok with that as a defence of a world title? really?

if that is what you think is a decent saturday nights boxing and a decent world title defence then you must be easily pleased.

we have had Cook, Layrea, Eversen and if Burns is as good as some people say he is then he should be looking for big fights with big names.

**** the facts, Harrison v Burns would be huge and Id be far more excited for that then a fight with the majority of the boxrec top 20. Personally I think he should go for Vasquez first, then Broner, but not before an fight with Harrison providing he wins a decent bout

Broner is the most overrated fighter in history.

He's beaten hardly anyone, yet people think he's the next Floyd.

Typical. An American with an unbeaten record and a few KOs.... everyone's got their knob out already before he's fought top level fighters.

I take it that Harrison will still be on the bill i wonder who he will fight now that Murray has bottled it?

I get what you're saying but hear me out!

His previous defences have mostly been utter tripe.

But, the Mitchell fight will be good, he's never in a dull fight, and the Rees fight would be great. Don't think you can argue with that. With Murray and Harrison I was assuming they would have a couple of tune-ups beforehand, and again I was assuming they would come through those fine. Fighting either of them right now would be crap, but if they show glimpses of their former selves then I think the fights are entertaining.

(Of course I'd rather see him tackle some big world names, but I like these fights in lieu of that, there's something about an all British affair).
