oh ffs sake mate... i honestly cannot be bothered responding to this tonight because its laughable. your trying to tell me a bunch of fighters who fought in the turn of the century and not one single one of them achieved anything remotely what Pacquiao, Toney or Hearns achieved are far greater than those three... well you make the case for them and maybe tomorrow i can reply.

These guys wrote boxing manuals? I had no idea, could you please show me some links with the title, details of the books, or better yet a sample view of it? Are they as good as the Dempsey's championship fighting book?

I wonder which other boxers wrote boxing manuals from the old school days. Benny Leonard was writing one at one point I think.

No one who regularly posts on the classic can have so little appreciation for such a great man. To claim hearns and toney achieved more than greb is damn right laughable.

In 1919 alone greb has a better resume than pretty much any boxer in history.

At the end of the day, the only absolute that you have when comparing fighters from different eras, is what they acomplished relative to their era.

In that respect Greb kicks just about anybodys but, whatever measure you choose.

Wins against elite fighters.

Wins against lineal champions.

Wins against hall of famers.

Depth, frequencey, dominance.

The only plane where anybody can surpass him is the plane of the theoretical.
