I never saw the battle of Waterloo but I know what happened and who won.

GGG looks like dynamite but until he is in the ring with a fighter who pushes him to his limits he can't be mentioned in the same breath as those who did. Time will tell.

GGG has done nothing other than have the same last initial to be mentioned alongside Greb.

He shouldn't be bracketed with Giardello yet, let alone Greb.

While I am very impressed by Golovkin;s performances to date, he has a bit of work to do before he is a potential rival for Greb.

The difference is we've seen what an AK can do, and we've seen what a musket can do. We've never SEEN Harry Greb's skillset, so we can't gauge who's faster, how quick his footwork is or his style.

    This.

Based on his resume, Greb's TBE at MW and pretty much walks on water.

But I suspect that if his die-hard fans saw him in action they might be disappointed.

Sounds more or less like a Calzaghe with a granite chin and super workrate. But we have no idea what his weaknesses were, or stylistic flaws or how his strengths matched up to another fighters. Very sad there's no footage of the man.

So you know enough to know how one army would fare against a different army on a different battlefield?

I know enough about Napoleon to have an opinion on him and weigh up his merits, given the vast amount of information out there, without needing to see DVDs of Austerlitz and Waterloo. The same applies to Greb.

We've not seen Napoleon or any of his battles either. Do you not have an opinion on any historic figure or event that isn't available on tape? Never mind that there are actually thousands of eyewitness accounts of people who did see Greb or fought him, to make an assessment of him as a fighter.

Consider the amount of pages in this forum devoted to boxers of whom there is little or no footage. Should we all just say "forget it. Never saw Bob Fitzsimmons. Can't offer an opinion."?

Yet we have seen what his opponents could do and how he handled them. Is there really a comparison to GGG's opponents or even himself at this point?

For some posters to say "I can't rate Harry Greb, because I have never seen how he fought" . The list of great HOFamers many larger than Greb, who lost to Greb frequently and whose films we see today, tells us the story of his greatness...
After all even today we can judge the lethal fury of a tornado not involving us,
by the destruction it left in it's aftermath...However Harry Greb's style, it was
    the results that truly matters...

If Canelo can trouble GGG then Greb, definitely.
