Ive seen it. Strange fight. Collins had the most bizarre reaction to getting caught. In the third round Carter caught Collins with a picture perfect right hand straight down the middle and Collins sort of froze and then went stiff as a board and fell backwards on his back. It looked like something out of a cartoon. He looked like he was out cold but somehow he struggled to his feet, staggered to Carter, got caught again and the exact same thing happened. Both times he was out cold but made it up somehow. Then carter trapped him on the ropes and blitzed him dropping Collins in a heap and after another half KD half push Collins got up and actually started throwing back, which was remarkable because short of the half push the other knockdowns could have ended the fight each time. Collins went down three more times that round for a total of seven knockdowns before the bell saved him. He turned, started for the wrong corner, stumbled drunkenly and almost fell before his cornermen grabbed him and led him to his corner. Its amazing that both the referee and the corner failed to stop the fight because Collins looked like hed run into buzzsaw. His left eye was swelling shut and his face was covered in lumps, he was clearly punch drunk and had absolutely no chance of winning but send him out they did and he got dropped three more times, each one ugly, before his corner finally stepped in and stopped the fight. Afterwards the referee was heavily criticized for letting it continue but defended himself by saying that since it was for the championship he felt that it needed to end in decisive fashion without his intervention. Im sure it didnt hurt that the fight was in Boston, Tommy's hometown...

I haven't seen it but have the Ring write up in a magazine. The referee was heavily criticised for allowing the fight to take its course apparently.

Yeah, according to one article I read the criticism was everywhere due to the fight being nationally televised. People phoned the network, all that there.
