RE Cerdan's injury. Perhaps newer posters now have not read the whole thread, and I won't repeat all I and others, have posted. Instead people can read what boxrec said, as well as newspaper reports posted now, and the extant film makes things clear. It is unfortunate that aspersions are cast against Cerdan based on modern fighters' actions. It is clear that from Rd 3, Cerdan stopped throwing the left. A search on such injuries reveals what I posted about "physical impossibility" to raise the arm. Stop trying to sell Cerdan short because you might love LaMotta or for whatever reasons. It was an amazing feat to stay in there against the Raging Bull with one good arm--his lesser one at that.
Burt: For joints that are totally "bone on bone," the supplements often do little or nothing, and "standard" medicine only has the problematic (especially the older one gets) joint replacement, there are at least 2 remarkable things available. These entail injections directly into the joint. The first is called prolotherapy. The second was rooster comb injections. This may have worked so well that the FDA banned it. (Not sure right now of the status. As strange as it sounds, may be available for some joints, and not others.) And if not available, the main component in rooster comb--hyaluronic acid--injections may be available. You can search on these things online if interested. I hope this helps you, so you can get your dukes up again, and throw some...
atsch Ph, thanks for your thoughts and suggestions : I already had a series of rooster comb injections ,but I had to stop them because I started to crow each morning, woke up the neighbors .atsch Seriously P, I have been taking injections of hyaluronic acid every 6 months for my knees, hoping to avoid a knee-replacement...The injections have certainly helped me, but for whatever reasons my Doctors don't give the hyaluronic injections in the shoulder, but they give cortisone injections instead. Cortisone don't help me much though...Thanks Phys...:good
You're welcome. You did not say if you've looked into prolotherapy which is supposed to shine for shoulder problems. If you google: shoulder prolotherapy, see what you come up with here: http://www.google.com/search?q=shou...s=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a It even has this youtube showing prolo on or in the shoulder: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pxIORNN0KX4[/ame] Yes, cortisone is a stop gap thing for pain or swelling, and cannot regenerate a joint unlike the prolo or rooster comb. Repeated use can actually cause more damage.
