He ****ed up Shane pretty good. He was ****ing up Ortiz. RG, Hatton, Zab, JMM. If he ever pressed on the gas, he could've KO'ed more guys.
Mosley was ancient. He sucker punched Ortiz. Gurrero is ****. Hatton was pretty much banned from in fighting from Cortez. Zab knocked him down and he cheated against Marquez.
Gatti was never really close to even going down though. The ass kicking standard is not set too high when you're most notable ass kicking is when the guy doesn't even come close to canvas. The hardest beatdown I've seen Floyd give was against Philip N'Dou.
There is nothing wrong with not busting people up. But the ability to deliver lots of punishment is a positive for a fighter. That can't be denied. Hurting people is a good thing.
Yea Pacquiao and Marquez being ridiculously smaller than Floyd and then campaigning at the same weight class as Floyd has nothing to do with that. Floyd probably hits close to as hard as Pacquiao and Marquez on an absolute level. But hits nowhere near as hard as either of them p4p, especially compared to Pac.
When he faced his best opponents (JLC and Corrales) he assumed the role of counter puncher, defensive fighter. So no he was never an "offensive AF" fighter. Absolutely not. He hit plenty hard enough that you didn't want to get hit by him, but at the same time was never close to being a puncher.
Those guys he was stopping were literally not even club level fighters for the most part. Keep that in mind. Only a handful like Hernandez, Manfredy and Corrales were notable fighters.
Haters love rewriting history with Floyd all the time. Gatti wasn't completely shot, in fact though not physical prime he looked the best he almost ever did in his 3 previous fights against quality opponents.. and Floyd made him look a guy off the street. Shane was coming off a huge victory against a quality guy in Margarito. Floyd isn't naturally all that much bigger than JMM or Hatton. so stop that garbage.
When did I say Ortiz may have ended up winning ?? I said Punk Mayweather should have been DQ'd. He would have been with an honest referee. Cortez & later Kenny Bayless were hired purely to protect Mayweather
