I am sure that Kovalev (vs Chilemba) would be defeated by Ward easily. I am not sure for Kovalev (vs Pascal, Hopkins etc...)...Illness ? Age ? Place of death (Simakov) ? Fear from domestic fans ? Day off ? Too slick rival ? There could be a lot of reasons . I can not wait November.

Chilemba is a good fighter with a style that didn't allow Kovalev to run him over like most of his opponents. Even with that Kovalev won a wide decision and still looked good.

This is an old fashioned super fight where both guys have been active and coming in at/near their peaks. Barring an obvious injury or something similar there should be no excuses here.

yeah he's too old to be boxing. Someone needs to step up and tell him it's over, find a new career.

No one brought up race except you. It's not a strange question, but the timing makes it a little comical to me

The timing ? Three days after the fight ? I can not understand your point.

The point is a week ago kovalev was in his prime and about to obliterate ward. Now people are getting nervous and already making excuses after kov faces a good boxer and gets a little exposed

No ! I am rooting for a competitive match, not for Kovalev, not for Ward. We need much more competitive matches, we - boxing fans. Yes, I am getting nervous now, because I feel that we will not see the competitive match. That is all.

At least wait until after the fight to come up with your excuses why you're boy lost. Everybody's deep into boxing politics nowadays, gotta have the right narrative huh? Just watch the fight so called boxing fans.

He could be great....a Vinnie Jones type hit man. He'd get a part in The Expendables 9 or whatever it would be.

He's towards the end of it like Ward is.

Kovalev is not past his prime. He underestimated Chilemba and had an off night. It was a wake up call and he acknowledged it himself. Damn good preparation for Ward, though....
