I don't think you are being fair, and let me explain why.. I totally understand you, and it's my first instinct to agree with you. The problem is, it wasn't Brock's decision to be given a shot at the title so early in his career. The shot was given to him on a platter, yes, but if someone offers you exactly what your end achievement is, aren't you going to take it? Wouldn't anybody in their right mind?

It's because of this that I can't really hate the guy. I strongly believed he was over-rated, and that the method to go about beating him was nearly self evident.

Do I think he deserves sympathy? Only so far as people should probably give the guy some respect for his ability, be it reliant on his size and power, or whatever. Of all the ***** WWE guys out there, he was the one with balls to step into the ring and really fight. This man deserves respect, in respect to him being a fighter and what he was able to accomplish.

But, he still deserves the criticism too. It comes with the territory.. Dana White deserves more of the criticism for giving him the shot so early, building the hype train. Now that Brock is off, I'm ready to try and be a fan of his.

I watched the fight. No he didn't. And King Mo won on all 3 judges' scorecards 49-45. It's not like it was a close fight.

Those were the rules Mousasi agreed to fight under coming in.

i agree with everything u said im also not as impressed with his performances like everyone else is..he only has a few fights and he looked horrible in his last two..not mention his 1st loss

I'll give him time though..He better win his next in impressive fashion..thats the thing with Brock..he's supposed to be this unstoppable monster..winning helps but getting your ass kicked and then winning doesnt help his monster persona they use to sell tickets..people wanna be wowed..Brock has some big expectations to live up too..

    i wish him luck though..

He's a promoter though. Of course he's going to hype anything. That's the definition of promoting. He's going to hype up Velasquez as the first Mexican heavyweight champion ever (there's never been a Mexican boxing heavyweight champion) and from a couple anecdotes I heard from this past weekend, it worked as Mexicans didn't even know Cain's name but they knew a Mexican was fighting for the title.

From a business perspective, Lesnar if he never did anything in the sport this day forward is one of the best masterstrokes Dana and the UFC have ever done because they got a good number of the pro wrestling fanbase to pay attention and watch UFC. I personally argue he was put in a position to fail like James Toney was. It was a win-win either way for Dana. If Lesnar failed, he got wrestling fans to watch, took their money, and proved his fighting platform's superiority over "the fake stuff". If Lesnar succeeded which he did, he gets huge PPV buys and an instant heel that the MMA fanbase hated and spent money to want to see him lose.

Brock is super gifted. My problem with him was the UFC hype machine behind him. I can't stand Dana White and I don't want any element of WWE in an actual real fighting environment. They treated him as if he would demolish Fedor after he had his FIRST win.:patsch I think it is clear he is nowhere near that skillset.

    Yes...and who cares ?

Did you just look at King Mo face ? He got demolished by laying on top of Moussassi. He was able to take him down but couldn't do any transtion to gain a dominant position.

Yes the judges gave the fight to Mo, Yes Moussassi agreed to the rules, Yes in your mind King Mo won, but honestly, you really think he won ? By taking a guy down and laying on him for 25 min ?

 at all these people talking about being unimpressed with Brock.

The man had less then a hanfull of pro fights before entering the UFC.....

Maybe you didnt understand that part so I'll say it again. The man didnt even have, a handfull, of fights, before he went to the UFC.....

and.... became HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION. Not impressive? lol.

Its ignorant to think Brock ONLY wins because hes big. Ya... carwin was a straight midget compared to brock :patsch You really think any 265lb guy can just waltz into the UFC and become a champ? lol..... ok. Where is the Lashley again? Where is pudzianowski again? Not former champs in even a secondary competition I can tell you that much. They would have never made it past Mir if they ever even made it to the UFC.

Brock is a formidable opponent and has done very well considering his lack of experience.... and depending on his attitude from here on out, can and will be a tough task for anyone just about.

Personally I thought the way the UFC have hyped Lesnar, Carwin and Cain has been pretty dubious. You look at the top level(or suposed top level opposition) they've fought and its a pretty dam narrow field with most of the hype ultimately coming from a Nog and Randy who don't look that hot anymore.

Basically Zuffa didnt have access to alot of the previous big names such as Fedor, Barnett, AA, Sylvia etc so they cooked up the new breed hype based on a few clearly declined older names. The fact Nog was still just about hanging onto a #2 ranking dispite showing signs of decline and then afetr an 11 month layoff looked terrible agenst Mir is basically the source for 95% of that hype.

Now Cain looks like he does have the potential for greatness but I think thats still far from prooven yet.

Well Nogueira was a Pride legend that was only rumored to be washed up after he lost to Mir, which was a shocking upset for a lot of people. (Mir himself is still on his game and comes from that Sylvia/Arlovski UFC era, his original title win in 2004 was over Sylvia by submission in 50 seconds.) Sylvia lost the interim title created by Randy's contract situation with the UFC to Nogueira. He then left the company after and went and that was a setup to get destroyed by Fedor. Barnett has his issues with states drug testing so even if UFC did sign him, would he pass a drug test? (this is the reason the Fedor-Barnett match never happened and got canceled within a week of it taking place). Arlovski got knocked out in 20 seconds by Brett Rogers which is how Fedor's first match in Strikeforce got to be Rogers. If you're going to talk about fighters that got hyped by beating on a declined older name and think it's a UFC thing, that certainly applied to Rogers after he beat Arlovski.

The whole Fedor stuff, whatever. I read on Sherdog that M-1 tried to get a Showtime contract to show M-1 shows a couple weeks ago and get rid of Strikeforce, so when you consider they only let Fedor in Strikeforce most likely in order for them to leech off all of Strikeforce's money and hard work to steal their TV contract, Fedor would've never been in UFC.

It's not a new concept, especially in boxing:

Pascal coming up is fighting Hopkins. Dawson fought Tarver twice. Valuev fought Holyfield. Calzaghe and Danny Green fought Roy Jones Jr. List goes on and on.

No. He has years of wrestling experience which is the dominant base in mma. He also got gifted a title shot after a handfull of fights. As soon as he fought anyone with average power/striking, he completely fell apart. There are a great number of guys who would have done exactly what he did given the opportunity.

I don't see elite athletacism in Brock, i see it in someone like GSP, fast strong, fluid and balanced. Brock is just a big strong wrestler that has a huge size advantage over most of his opponents and uses it to lay on top of them.
