No, Whitaker still has the edge in resume and head to head ability

Mayweather. Better fighter, better comp, more belts, more knockouts, undefeated.

If Floyd was to lose to cotto or some other big Welter then Sweet Pea would take back the mantle, but Floyd is better as of now and would clearly be better with a win over one of the other Welters with a belt.

How do you figure? What good fighters did he actually beat? Castillo did beat some good fighters, and he was in two close fighst with a guy who's way better than McGirt. So if Castillo can hang with Floyd, what makes you think McGirt would beat him so easily?

Np mate. Was funny though my spelling is that bad. It is not a line of argument I could ever use.

    Also Pea > Floyd.

I dont know to be honest , Whitaker is one of the finest p4p fact , but Mayweather is a very very great fighter . Pernell is greater right now as a ATG , but Mayweather will be remembered as one of the finest talents when in years to come. I dont like Mayweather , and it is hard to bring up an active fighter because people aren't convinced , but it mst be said - Mayweather has done a lot and is a ATG aswell.

Luike i said , i dont like him , but i must be honest about it imo

Styles and Size. McGirt was naturally a LWW/WW. He was also a very good boxer who was tough as, I see him outboxing Castillo at 140 and more so at 147.

Oliva, Simon, Bramble and Jacobs were all good fighters. But he also did pretty good against Taylor and Pea. So he rates highly.

The resume is more debatable than the H2H.

He wasn't world class when McGirt got to him, but all in all, he was a very respectable fighter and a former champion.

He was an aging trial horse when McGirt got to him. Why don't we add Jorge Paez to JLC's accomplishments while we're at it?

    Castillo better than McGirt?

I think even Freddie Pendleton would knock Castillo out. (Castillo would probably win a rematch though).
