his trainer sucks. I'ma big Paul Williams fan and they were talking about Martinez like he was just kid off the street. We all witnessed the process of Paul's Chin cracking. No one can take hits to the face forever and he's been doing it his whole career. What type of trainer lets that happen? Just because you have a tough kid that likes to fight doesnt mean its okay to let him get hit. I actually had a dream the night before that Paul Williams got knocked out. True Story. When it happened in real time it seem so unreal. Till this day I still cant believe it. But anyway...to answer your question...no one knows. Paul chin was one of his greatest attributes...so it might be a major problem. I just hope he doesnt end up like Jermain Taylor...my other fav fighter. You know what? I'm going to stop being into boxing so much cuz he becomes heart breaking when my fighter gets knocked out or loses. That Paul Williams knock out was brutal man. I think he's more mentally tougher than Jermain but who knows how one reacts after that.

    His trainer really sucks

I always felt Paul should have tried to stay outside against Martinez, and go inside on Cintron.

    Instead, he did the opposite.

It's too early to tell. We have to see how Williams bounces back in his next fight. He seemed to handle the loss really well after the fight.

They didnt have no gameplan. He got hit with the same punch that knocked him down the first fight...its cool to try to please the fans but damnit man.

George Peterson really pisses me off man. All that potential he had and thats what he does with him? Doesnt teach him how to use his height? I'm so pissed right now.

Same with Cotto...his uncle sucks too. I seriously believe that Cotto would be undefeated right now if he had a trainer in his earlier career. He was training himself!

Man let me log off here and got take a sleeping pill

I think Williams started to lose it after his fight with Margarito, even though he won that was still a hard fight, then he got out worked by Quintana, and came back round for a few nothing fights and then another war with Martinez, only to come back in the rematch and chase Martinez and get knocked out.
Had he let the fight come to him rather than trying to be the aggressor likely he could have won... who knows though....

    Very very true!!!

Martinez is quick and likes to get off quick shots when your close

Contribution is just a bum! Put pressure on him and he'll jump out the ring!!!

    More "exposed" than "ruined" him!

After tonight vs Lara, it may no longer be too soon to say that Martinez ruined Williams.

If Williams' next performance is as terrible as the one vs Lara, then I think we can safely say that the answer to this thread's question is 'yes'.

Williams judges can't save him all the time. Martinez beat Williams two times, but he knew he had to knock Williams out because of Williams' criminal judges. Margarito beat the crap out of Williams and tonight Lara beat the crap out of Williams, it was a mismatch! Good thing Williams has his personal judges. His judges need to be investigated ASAP!

Paul Williams is finished as a fighter. I think the 1st fight with Martinez ruined him. He looked just as **** against Cintron before Cintron dove out of the ring.

He has no snap on his punches, he doesnt fight with near the ferocity he used to, and his combinations are slow and weak.

He's a finished fighter. He'll look at his face in the mirror tonight and realize it.

Agreed -- he is not the fighter he once was.
