pretty much, and now he is gettin the same treatment Roy gettin, but he knows he cant say anything about weight. B/c that would demean his win against RJ
Tarver was a real good fighter a few years ago. He had good technical skills, was a decent counter puncher, and had power. Would he have beaten Roy Jones in his prime? No, but that is neither here nor there. He made the most of the opportunity and has something to define his career. At this stage, he's clearly past his prime and probably could not beat any of the top 5 light heavyweights. He doesn't have the speed or the snap he once had. I can't see him beating Dawson, Erdei, Woods, or Hopkins. It's really a joke that he considers himself a champion when all he has to show for it recently is the IBO Belt, a majority decision win over Muriqi, and a lopsided loss against Bernard Hopkins. He always ran his mouth too much for my liking, but now, I think he's trying to secure a fight with a big name light heavyweight. It would be a final opportunity for glory at his advanced age or at the very least, a nice payday.
