Maybe to the handful of people who actually like watching Lara it was, but I'm pretty sure they didn't like Canelo anyway.
How exactly can a career be ruined by getting the decision in a close match with the other best fighter in your division, before you've hit 24??
Considering it wasn't a robbery and canelo won a close fight it will probably make his future opponents consider that a talented Cuban who was a stylistic nightmare for canelo still couldn't beat him so what chance do they actually have. Floyd is the only fighter at 154 and below that beats canelo.
Robberies don't destroy your career, if you aren't the one robbed, that is. Look at Danny Garcia. Look at Pedjr. If anything, robberies only makes you more appreciated by the usa fans. "If you ain't cheatin', you ain't even tryin!'"
Fighters like Lara who are pure boxers will always get robbed. American boxing has a long history of cheating such talents. Lara is definitely no exception. This robbery was not a blatant as the Paul Williams robbery, but a clear mugging, no doubt. BTW: I scored the fight 9-3 for Lara as well.
Lara didn't get robbed, he got what he deserved. All his talk about how hungry he was and his trainer saying how he was going to destroy Canelo, and he comes into Canelo's back yard and fights like that and expects to get a decision? I'm no big fan of Canelo, but without him there was no fight. There is a fine line between ring generalship and refusing to engage and Lara was on the wrong side of it. He didn't open up and try to hurt Canelo once the entire fight. Nothing but 1-2 then run. I won't pay a nickel to see Lara fight again.
I think people just had "robbery" fixed in their minds. I had it a draw. 115-113 either way works too.
http://www.boxingnewsonline.net/opin...lara-showdown/ Out of 89 media score card 34 had it for Canelo, 30 Lara and 25 had it a Draw, that's a close fight that could have went either way not a robbery.
Yeah we all know now that canelo is one dimensional. He cant fight against boxers who hit and run. Theres a blueprint to beating him
Suppose seen a poster admit to only watching the first 6 rounds yet claim the fight was a robbery, another claim a draw would be a fair result only to make up a rule that body shots don't count so he can score it wide to Lara.atsch
