Freak in this sport than Roy Jones Junior in his prime?

    Man, he was like lightening!

If there has been, who was it? Tyson - for how fast he was as a HW - is in with a shout, IMO.

Also, could Roy have excelled in other sports when he was in his prime?

Apart from him though, I would say Benny Leonard, Wilie Pep and possibly SRR.
Superman was amazing though and heavier....

Didn't Roy play a (semi-pro?) basketball game in the afternoon, before defending his title in the evening?

SRR was more athletic he could do what Jones did and do it better plus he had a chin something Jones didnt have. As for him excelling in other sports i doubt it, he used to play basketball but he was average at best according to reports.

Yes! Against Eric Lucas. And for me, like you said, he was the best athletical athlete Ive ever seen in his prime. What he was doing was unteachable since his style was based on reflexes and speed.

You know, Roy was able to get away with a lot of stuff because he was fast. He would often lunge, and throw a punch that missed and left him WIDE open, but his opponents just weren't fast enough to capitalize on it.

People overstate Roy's athleticism. Speed-wise he was good, but not exceptional in the class of fast handed fighters.

    No. That's the simple answer.

Anybody saying Floyd was more athletic than Roy has not a clue.
