he does not have a chance because he blew it. Why he always fights guy who will not get him a title shot I do not understand. Would beating Cameron get him the title shot? No way.

Very sad, but this has the ring of truth and and exposes the fact he is not serious in any in-depth comeback. As Ardy had suggested Tua is here to ingratiate himself with NZ fight fans and has little to do with any real future development. Its pertinent that coach Bloodworth wasnt going to make the trip to NZ till a few weeks out from the fight with Cameron.

Briggs fought tomato cans every other month to get a title shot. So did Maskaev. Some fighters get multiple shots based on past achievements (Toney) or even just on being King's fighters (Golota).

With his record, Tua should have no problem in getting a title shot one way or another. If he is not trying, it can only mean he is even more shot than the whole division in general. I know he had some problems with management on top of everything, but come'on, enough is enough.

C'mon gregor, the division isnt shot, that is a myth of the new generation. The facts of tomato cans before a two year layoff then resume where he left off just to challenge a countryman has an odour with it that suggests its not a valid tilt at a serious comeback to world rankings but an attempt at local attention...

Can David Tua make top 6?
I'd have to say a motivated, fit David Tua could make top 6 against the guys out there right now.
I can't see him having too much trouble with Arreola, Peter, Chagaev or Ibragimov.
But then you start looking at guys like Povetkin, who I think hasn't been tested to the point where we really know what he's capable of, Tony Thomson - I think he could beat Tua if he stayed on his bike and didn't tire, Valuev would be a freak show of as fight, Dimitrenko's in the same boat as Povetkin as far as I'm concerned, Gomez - less than stellar as a heavyweight so far, but in shape has the skills to out box Tua.
Then there's the Klit's - Tua fighting either of these guys would be a duller version of the Lewis fight IMO
Really if Tua beats Cameron and looks good doing it, he'll be able get a top 10 ranking if he want's to work for it and beat a couple of the guys out there. But the question remains will he?

Yep a younger version of Tua certainly lends crack to that theory Darkshark and its plausable logic that with that in mind he may be able to make fringe 6 perhaps with age in mind. But if this *fight of the century* doesnt materialize is Tua going to do anything more??? When he does, we may then see what hes got left in the motivational tank, dont you think?

Bang on the money Sham, personally (as you know) I want the Cameron fight to disappear, Tua to go know Arreola on his ass then line Haye up. Do you think he'd be able to beat Haye? I know Haye would have speed all over Tua, but it's doubtful he could stop or even hurt the Tuaman and you'd have to think a left hook would land at some stage right?

Arreola unbeaten at this time, and current, could pose a problem for a comebacking Tua. Maybe a couple of tuneup bouts and a fringe contender in November if hes serious.

Hell DS, id love to see anyone drop that big mouthed pom on his ass. A well placed Tua hook would rip his head off.

But right now we are imagining the Tua in past tense...we don't have a clue to where he is right now, and we wont know that until hes currently active in two or three outings with fighters up the ladder.

Nah Sham - I'm thinking about the guy who was in there with Fox & Montana, but on the bright side we should find out in the not too distant future where he's at - surely he'll have a fight between now and the revised September date for Cameron. Rumours on DT.et are saying he could be in the ring as early as May...

That is a solid wish of mine too DS. I hear on the vine that Cameron really wants this fight to happen with David and then retire! Thats why he was genuinely upset when he had bad news with his hand problem.. AND Reinsy is putting pressure on Cam to fight in England win or lose in fight of the century. I hear the camp is not totally connected on one accord, Reinsy is still pushing his barrow.

Shuks DS, we both are laden with rumours but I hope DT does get it going early in May and again in September, that would show the intent we need to see 'to keep the faith'. LOL
