Again, Calzaghe was never an international star until very recently, he always fought inside the UK and was again, no where near Roy who was the P4P #1 for a long time. also, he was never in Jones division except for his pre-champion fights. What would Jones have gained by fighting Calzaghe 5 years ago? A WBO Supermiddleweight belt, and a win that would have meant quite little at the time. Calzaghe is a big name now, and is rated very highly by everyone, and guess what, Jones is fighting him. In the modern era, no fighter fights everybody around them. I've never argued for this side, and I am not some massive Jones fan (although I am a fan of course), but Jones never going to the UK to fight Calzaghe earlier or to Germany to fight Ottke is no slight on his legacy IMO, certainly no more than those two not going to America to fight him. The DM situation however does take away from his legacy because Darius was THE Lightheavyweight champion when Roy moved up, and he never fought him. Whether it's his fault or not, that does hurt his legacy. But never fighting Calzaghe previously, who again was virtually unknown outside of the UK or at least outside of Europe and only had a WBO belt to offer at a division RJJ had already won a championship at does not hurt his legacy IMO. Completelly shot he is now fighting Calzaghe, because Calzaghe finally means something on an international level and is the top guy in RJJ's division. Jones did not duck Calzaghe, period. He did avoid several fighters, but not Calzaghe, Calzaghe simply presented Jones nothing to fight for before now.

Mosley-Down The past few years make me realize that he has been getting a lot of mileae out of his DLH win.His wins over Collozo and a shot Vargas are some of the better wins on his resume. That has put his career into a little more perspective for me. Still has time to change things in such a deep welterweight division.

Lopez-Same I don't thik he's even fought in the last five years.He was a great small guy who seemed to go unnoticed during his career. He seems to have picked up a bit more attention in places like here which is really good. But his career stays the same for me.

Tyson-Same The losses he's had in the past five years mean nothing. Tyson is the epitome of a love/hate fighter. Some love him and think of him as the greatest ever and some think he beat a bunch of stiffs and faltered every time he faced adversity. The truth was five years ago and is still today somewhere in between.

Lewis-Up His win over Vitaly is one of his best wins and then retired as champ those help his legacy Now his career is over his accomplishments look a bit better when compared to other heavyweight greats.

Wlad-Up 5 years ago he wouldn't have touched a top 50 list. Now he's securely in there so he obviously moves up.

Hopkins-Same Hopkins is hard to pinpoint here. In the past 5 years he beat Tarver, DLH, and Winky while losing to Calzaghe and Taylor twice.There's some balance there.Doing what he has at his age is impressive but his middleweight reign hasn't improved to me over time. I can understand moving him up but I keep him about the same. If he beats Pavlik, which I'm leaning towards, then he moves up in a big way.

Roy Jones-Down The losses to Tarver and Johnosn hurt. Jones wasn't in his prime but I don't think he was a shot as he is now. But looking back it does seem Jones could have done a lot more with his career. He's still a great but could have been even greater.

Calzaghe-Up His best wins are probably Kesssler, Hopkins, and Lacy all in the last few years. He's also moved from outside the top 10 pfp into the top 3 so my opinion has definitley went up on Calzaghe.

Pacquaio-Up Has improved a lot in the ring in the past 5 years. He's gone from being a one dimensional buzz saw to a more well rounded semi-buzzsaw. Has gone from being a champ at the lower weight to being the top pfp guy and a huge star. His wins over Barerra, JMM, and Morales are probably his best wins and have all came within the past 5 years.

Oscar DLH- Down Hasn't done a lot in the past 5 years to really move up. His best work was all done more than 5 years ago. Should have gotten the decision over Mosley but not Sturm. I wouldn't argue with keeping him the same though.

Toney-Up Has moved up well past his best weight and made himself a contender at heayvweight despite the weight and age. Throw in his big win over Jirov at cruiser and Toney has defintly improved for me in the past 5 years.

Roy Jones who was brutally one punch knocked out by Antonio Tarver AND Glen Johnson somehow goes up while oscar de la hoya who at age 35 coming off long layoff takes the # 1 p4p fighter in the sport on the brink of defeat to a split decision, and he goes down?

 

Well, it´s not about what these guys did during that time but about how my view of them changed. RJJ was knocked out two times and it seemed he was finished but he tries to adept his style to his vanishing physical abilities and takes on a current p4p top3 fighter. I never thought much of him due to him not fulfilling his destiny but following money, that changed my mind a bit.
Oscar on the other hand got very high rated by myself but the Pacman farce really hurts him imo.
