Thats why Vitali ducked him like a coward

Sanders raped Wlad while Vittles looked on in horror

So what does that make Wlad? A gate keepers ***** who lost to another gatekeeper I guess

Landed one meaningful punch in his entire career.

"But what a punch it was."

    Ruiz was better than Rahman.

let's not get carried away. ruiz has NO signature wins. in fact some of his wins weren't even real.

rahman was descent. beating lewis and sanders is nothing to sneeze at.

Rahman has one signature win and another decent win over Sanders, but Ruiz has a lot more consistency at the top level. Depends on what you go for really. I think Ruiz was the more solid top level fighter than Rahman, who was often wildly inconsistent.

More than a gatekeeper but less than a champion, he got lucky with Lewis and the rest of whats been said is why hes more than a gatekeeper but not by much

To my mind the only thing underrated about Rahman was his one punch power. It was huge. His problem was in landing it flush, which he only really did once in his career when it really mattered.

It might be a cliche, but that shot he detonated on Lewis's chin would have knocked out most top heavyweights in history. It was a sickening punch. Calling Lewis glass chinned for getting dropped by that is like calling Larry Holmes glass chinned for getting dropped by Shavers.

Ruiz had enough wins, you might not like his style. Few do.
But he was effective enough with it

Im in the under appreciated camp. He wasn't over or under rated. But it is sad why fans never took to him.

He was a very personable guy, still is. He never hid himself from fans, or tried to talk like he was this great fighter, then duck guys trying to get in there with him.

He's got about 5 great fights, and if any of them were a fluke, the others wouldnt be there to accompany them.

As a fight fan, I appreciate his willingness to take the toughest fights out there, when the opponents were still relevant.:deal
