Sadly it's not just Hatton who thinks this but the perception seems to be through the media industry that UFC brings in the money and delivers the goods in terms of satisfaction for the fans.

Boxing's becoming a niche sport that many can't be arsed to chase up.

People watch UFC and know who the man is at each weight and thats it.

I can't stand it personally, god knows I've tried.

:patsch:lol:In fairness, I have to agree with the first part, Betty. This is rich coming from a bloke who has given his fans the dilemma of whether they should spend a whole month's hard earned wages on watching him in Vegas. Stinks of double standards on Wicky's part, IMO.

Abused the sport?, **** off you *****.

He's raised the profile of British boxing more than any other fighter in the last decade.

He's been a godsend to British boxing ask Amir Khan, Carl Froch, David Haye, Joe Calzaghe etc etc he brought many more fans into the sport and that is exactly what we need.

You really are a blinkered idiot, boxing is struggling and he's offering his perception on why it's struggling and he's not the only one.

If you google boxing it comes up boxings going tits up because of UFC.

Don't stick your head in the sand, adjustments need to be made to the sport otherwise it will get abandoned by the networks and then where will we be.

as I say, the guy is a total and utter fraud. I'm just glad to see more and more are seeing through Wicky's bollocks, even if they are several years too late. I wonder if the man is saying this **** deliberately to be ironic, but alas I don't think he's bright enough to do that.
Hatton is all about himself, enriching himself at the expense of the sport. All this shite about 'it's for me fans' is just that.....shite.
Like father like son. Like brother like Wicky. The funny part is there are a few guys who say Ray and Matthew are twats but Wicky is sound :patsch

:goodI agree with all of that. Especially the last part. The 'UFC model' is the way boxing needs to go, IMO. The belt organisations seem intent on trying to destroy boxing with ludicrous propositions after ludicrous propostitions. The Ring Championship needs to gain mainstream acception and approval, IMO.

:huh What has it got to do with a fight between him and Manny Pacquiao? He's talking about the sport as a whole.

Calm down, Guy- I shall explain: He's made a good living from the sport and now he's complaining about the sport fading in comparison to the UFC. Yet in the last few years he's been adding more credence to yet another belt. IMO, this is exactly the king of thing that is contributing to boxing's downfall. He needs to reassess what he's said.

I disagree.Boxing is going tits because of things that happen within boxing. The UFC has had a meteoric rise and you can see why.It is easy for anybody to follow,no bull**** the best fight the best all of the time.It is marketable.3 x 5 minute rounds usually produces excitement aswell.I could go on
    Yes
