A good fighter, but not great. He was overhyped by the british media too much, alot of his greatest wins were against faded fighters who weren't in there primes. When he did step up to be p4p fighter of the world, he was thoroughly exposed. The manner of the defeat was embarrasing to watch, a true indication of how good he was against against a top level opponent. It reminds me of prince naseem's career, but worse...

Very good Light Welter, arguably the best of recent times. Undefeated at the weight and linear champ. Cotto would be close but didn't do as much at LWW at looked frail of chin, Mayweather, though clearly a better fighter, didn't achieve anything of note at the weight.

Is he an atg? No. Is he great? Probably.

hatton and tszyu are simply the best 140lbers of the past decade, idont think there is really any questioning of that ... his achievements at the weight surpass anything floyd, cotto, zab or ... witter have done at the weight and h2h at 140 he ranks in the top 3 of the past 10 years at the weight.someone said earlier that he is simply an above average fighter, thats ****ing ludacris an above average fighter is someone like chavez jr, hatton is an elite level fighter and has been for close to 5 years, he has nothing left to prove at the weight his best win at 140 is simply the best fight he could have fought at the weight and a win over someone like bradley would do nothing for his legacy imo though. although i have to say i'd love to see him fight torres simply for the action.

He's the best at 140 so far. He can be competitive against Pac.

Two weight world champion, Ring Magazine fighter of the year 2005 (first British fighter to do so iirc), absolutely dominant at 140, only lost outside of his weightclass to the best P4P fighter in the world, is definitely a future HOF-er, one of the top draws in the last 10 years, arguably the most popular post-war fighter in Britain, could have easily stayed in his comfort zone in the U.K. but opted not to, hasn't ever been seriously troubled at 140, and just absolutely dominated a fighter who was tipped by many to out-slick him and give him all sorts of trouble.

I mean, he's not the second coming of Aaron Pryor, but he's a lot better than people on here suggest.

There aren't any great fighters at 140. That's the reason i said only a good fighter, he's very limited.

Toooooooo Late to call Hatton hype.
Like calling a storm that just passed not wet enough.
(End of the day it still rained)

Hatton has already made it to superstar level, He has nothing to prove.
At this stage we just sit and wait for a younger "Hatton" to replace him.

He is niether hyped, nor great.

He is just a good boxer, and big name.

If he beats Pac, then Floyd, Hatton becomes great.

Fair point and accurate. Hatton is a good fighter who gives has good as he got yes he got beat of phenominal fighter in mayweather, no shame in that at least he had a crack at him.
