Like you stated above, the dehydration factor. I can't pretend to be a doctor here, but it has to do with the fluids around your brain, and even with high tech shiz goin' on, it would take more than any 24 hours to be certain that all is truly well. Somebody more educated than me on this care to explain further?
This is dumb. 99% of the pros cut weight. Even Mayweather. You think they walk around weighing exactly 126, 135, 147, 154 all the time? Please. Don't hate the player hate the game.
Yeh i remember Roach said he saw the drip insertion mark still very visible on oscar's arm right before he stepped into the ring vs pac. He rehydrated too late.
You are exactly right, and it is how the game is played these days....it's just when you see a fighter coming in 15 lbs. or more over the specified weight limit....well that does raise some eyebrows.
Good example. I can't remember what the fluids around your brain is called, but when you severely dehydrate those fluids get cut short too. This is when it can be really dangerous from what I understand, and can cause brain damage more easily. It takes longer for those fluids to "refill" to normal levels and it's not like they can put an IV in your ear....you know?
Shut the hell up. Thanks for the info, but too bad I already know why they changed the weigh in and the number of rounds.
