The rules define what you CAN have under your gloves, and prohibits substances which go against these limits. Rather than making a list of prohibited substances: "brick, plaster, glass, metal, plastic, adamantium, condoms, your mum, car tyre..." it says what u CAN have. In the same way that it limits the amount of gauze u can use to a figure (20 yards), rather than saying "you cannot use 21 yards, 22 yards, 23 yards, 24 yards, 25 yards...". Both fighters agree on the weight, and both fighters are allowed to gain weight after the weigh-in. There is no advantage. If u are a smaller fighter and u accept a fight at a weight division where u know ur opponent can gain alot of weight after the weigh-in..then u also know that he will be very drained at the weigh-in in order for him to have made the weight. Please dont breed..
Pac and JMM both gained over 14lb when they fought at 130, and Guzman would gain 18lbs when he was fighting at 130. Its no secret that Hatton will be bigger than PAcquiao. Thats the only reason he has any sembalnce of a chance at wining.
This is why the changed the rules from weigh-ins on the day of the fight, so that the fighters had enough time to hydrate themselves. A safety measure to hopefully stop some of the brain bleeds and **** fighters were getting because they were dehydrated going into fights.
there are some dumb ass posts in this thread. Rehydrating and having the weigh ins early are a part of boxing. Its been around for a long time. Pacman will rehydrate also. Its not cheating, its part of the game.
No, because that will get you in a higher weight class. I think weigh ins should be closer to the fight to avoid this whole dehydrating nonsense.
The problem was it didn't stop fighters dehydrating, it stopped them rehydrating. I guess its the lesser of two evils.
This fight will be tougher than the DDD fight but should have the same results. Pain This content is protected
