Naz was more about bigging himself up though, where as PBF tends to do that plus slag off his opponents at every given oppotunity
"I like to play me darts and have a few pints" Hatton does get annoying but he seems like a good person at heart. The only fighter that Ive met was Winky Wright and he is extremely down to earth and friendly in person. Used to see him around the park jogging or playing basketball with his friends. He was always nice to all the little kids at the park and cool with everyone, not the least bit of snobbery from him.
Aye It does get boring fast. He's modest enough to leave his promoters when someone offers him money though.:yep His modesty doesn't hide his contradictions either when Witter Is mentioned.:deal
Have any of you diots ever thought that Hatton doesn't edit 24/7. He makes so much of being working class down to earth lad cause the media love it , and they lover a bozer with that image so therefore in virtually every interview Hatton does, he will be asked something like " So Ricky, is it true you still drink down the same pub you always have ? " " So Ricky, is the stuff about you not forgetting your working class back ground true ? " This image is being thrown in your face cause the media and management around Hatton are promoting him as the genuine, down to earth guy , non flashy non tacky guy. Boxing fans maybe getting sick of this because they've watched Hatton interviews for years, but this iosn't the case for the new boxing fan. You're hearing more of the down to earth stuff cause he is being interviewed 10 times as much, the biggest fight of his life is approaching ! Jeez people, use ya brains
:good ......... Its Yanky "flashness" V Brit "roughness" cleverly edited & laid on for the masses, Them & there £14.99 love it.....
Was very impressed with Lacy at the Calazghe fight, was compleltely outclassed after being talked up, but didn't take a backward step and didn't go down, showed a lot of guts and took his defeat like a man.
Guys, it's not like Hatton rides around on an open top bus with a megaphone spouting about how he's one of the lads. He answers questions put to him. Usually like "Ricky, you have such a great rapport with the fans, why do you think that is?" or even "Ricky, you're known as being such a down to earth character even now, how true is that?".
