Impressive. Thats the first hurdle done as weight looks to not be an issue, especially with 2 months to go. Second hurdle and certainly the biggest is how sharp will he be. With 3 years out I would go the SRL route and have a few closed door bouts with decent pros who could **** me up a bit and really test my sharpness. Doesn't matter how good he looks, if the sharpness is gone then he'll get hit even more and won't see or be able to react to the openings like he used to.
The body is an incredible piece of machinery and will repair itself. Detoxing and healthy living for a sustained amount of time will probably see Hatton coming into the ring fitter than he ever did before. If what is being said is true, then surely Hatton has been cleaner and fitter longer than ever before? Giving his body time to adjust correctly.
He's In great shape! Now he can spend the next 2 months working on skills instead of having to remove the blubber. It might be the angle but he did look slightly gaunt but if that is the case because he is so far ahead in his training then normal he can replenish his body to build back strength.
if he can make welter healthy, 140 is not out of the question next time out, if he maintains his body in the low 150's between now and then. it was going up to 190-200 and then down to 140 that was draining him, going from 152 down to 140 will be fine
At 5'7" and looking like that he is way south of 160, probably right on the weight but with absolutely no conditioning
If Hatton has been clean then I would agree his body will have repaired itself to some extent and he can live his life in good health. However, to get back into professional boxing, especially at a high level, is something else entirely. As for him being fitter than ever before, I can't imagine that being true. We may have seen him blow up between fights in the past, but it didn't stop him doing extremely well in his career. The three year layoff and all that he did to himself in that time will have taken its toll. That's more than 3 years worth of ageing in his face alone..
Im afraid youre right mate. Taking such a lay off with all the bad living Ricy is known for and theres no way hes going to get back where he was. It just cant happen no matter who you are.
All this talk about how good or bad he looks at the moment is pointless, we will get more clues about his future after the Senchenko fight. We will see how much he has to give as the 147 division is flooded with top fighters.
There's no way you could possibly know. There are various degrees of use/abuse of drink and drugs, and liking a beer and getting caught snorting a white powder does not mean he is an addict. It doesn't necessarily mean it's even a problem.
Its hilarious how threads like this bring out the top 10 trainers of all time who have fought over 30 pro bouts at least 8 of which for a wide title. How can you guys tell from a low quality picture if someones overtrained or not? To say so is absolutely laughable to be honest.
