Hatton came out and said he wasn't ready for Mayweather. It had very little to do with money(he would've gotten plenty) and everything to do with the fact that he knew he would've gotten his ass whooped. By the time he did face Mayweahter, he had nothing to lose. The fight was at 147, so he was able to keep his ring belt, the paycheck was bigger, and being that Mayweather was retired it was his last shot to take him on. Hatton also clearly avoided Witter as well. All that crap about personal issues was bull****. Floyd had been dogging Hatton for a couple of years and he still fought him.
I didn't agree with the word average no. Of course these guys arn't A class, but you have to fight these fights to clear divisions. Hattons resume if ****ing solid man, it rapes Bradleys so based on the caliber of fighters Hatton has faced, I give Hatton it. Also Bradley is solid but brings nothing to the table that Hatton hasn't faced before, where as the same can't be said of Bradley.
I never said he didn't duck Witter. I think he did, but I also happen to think that Hatton would have destroyed him - especially the version that fought Bradley. Witter's career best performance was stopping Vivian Harris. I hate to be critical, but if, on your best night, you took seven rounds to put that version of Harris away, you can't be all that cracking. What has Witter ever done to suggest he could win? Knocking out 15 stiffs in a row certainly doesn't qualify.
This fight is a FAR bigger mismatch than the Malignaggi fight was going in. What the hell has this Bradley done to warrent people thinking he would even be competitive? Beat an old Junior Witter?? Puh-leez. Hatton would beat this guy up and knock him out. A COMPLETE mismatch.
Yeah but Bradley isn't and never will be Maywhether, lets face it, he's the only one whos done the job against hatton like he was p4p number 1. Wheres Bradley? If you think Bradleys speed timing and accuracy is as good as Maywhethers believe what you want.
What did Paulie do for you to believe that he would beat Hatton via wide UD? Bradley's win over Witter is better than any win on Paulie's resume. These fights aren't determined by resumes, they're determined by skill and will. Hatton had beaten no one of note going into his fight with Tszyu yet he dominated. Since you're so covinced that Paulie is better than Bradley, in what ways is Paulie superior to Bradley?
That wasn't my point. My point was that you don't have to be big puncher in order to hurt your opponent.
I know I just think that the fact is beating Witter, who is is only win of note; who is inconsistant and a completely different style than Hatton. Is not a great pick. I am not saying that Bradley could not beat Hatton just that he does not have the type of experience that, personally, would make me comfortable in picking Hatton. I don't think Bradley showed enough general skills in the Witter fight to beat Hatton. And if you look at who is choosing Tim, its pretty much either people who are not fond of Hatton and Bradley fans.
Hatton by KO. I would like to see this fight if he doesn't fight DLH or Pacquiao or hopefully both fights will happen.
i would compare bradley's win over witter a bit like gavin rees's win over m'baye. strange fights where both witter and m'baye were abysmal and massively underperformed.
I think those who voted for Bradley were influenced primarily by his nationality, and secondly by his ethnicity. There sure as hell isn't any logical reason to think he'd even be competitive.
Hatton is swarming fighter, who comes in face first and is open to be caught coming in. He isn't a huge puncer, but he has good pop and is very active. His footspeed is also a lot better than many give him credit for. Hatton has a big left hook, but often leaves his rightside wide open when he throws it. To beat Hatton, you need to be strong, well conditioned, solid defensively, have a good chin and have fast fands. Bradley has all of those characteristics. I think he can time Hatton coming in, won't be pushed around, and he can take Hatton's shots if he makes a mistake. His defense is good enough where he can avoid many of Hatton's wide shots. Hatton is very tenacious and has many natural talents. However, he makes a lot of mistakes. A composed, well rounded fighter can take him. I think it's silly to assume people would only pick Bradley because of his race and/or nationality.
well that may be true but until bradley steps up to the next level you don't know for sure. hattons been there and done it, bradley has beat a VERY poor witter and that's it. when bradley beats some of the top guys at 140 then maybe we'll all be able to make better assumptions.
