Okay lets take your Hatton goggles off and talk about this properly.

Magee is not even really a B level fighter. He made his fight with Hatton competitive, and hurt Ricky as well. Magee COULD NOT hold his own with any 140 pound fighter of the last decade, what garbage. He as an upper level journeyman at best. Guys like Tszyu, Oscar, SSM, Whitaker, Trinidad would have absolutely punished him.

Collazo was a welter, yes, but not a big guy for the division. Hatton was only moving up ONE division, so the size should not have been that much of an issue. The fact is, he struggled with the style of Collazo, who is definitely not an elite fighter, and barely managed to take out a close decision.

Urango made the fight very competitive, and hurt Ricky with his body shots. The reason Ricky coped with the southpaw style here better though, is much more to do with the way Urango fights. He doesn't coutner punch, and didn't take advantage of the openings Hatton was giving him.

I agree that Magee was not all that, but he was by far the best fighter Hatton had faced by that stage. Hatton struggled early on, when he really shouldn't have, but from the fourth (I think) he completely took over and defeated him in the manner he should have started.

Collazo was a slickster, which is what Hatton hates facing. However, Hatton swept the early rounds and won by a couple of pts, imo. What Hatton started doing was abandoming the excellent head movement that was key to his success up to and including the Tszyu fight.

As for Urango, he hits hard and hurt Hatton a bit. But the fight was not particularly competitive; Hatton won by a mile.

Hatton is not world level at facing southpaws, I would agree. However, I can't agree with some of your points.

I think this will be a hell of a fight and another great event for boxing in general. I'm going to cheer for Hatton though I like both fairly equally. Just want to see Hatton remain the man at 140. No easy task to beat the Pacmeister though.

hatton is a devestating body puncher and can probably wittle down pacs great stamina. hopfully mayweather isnt too focus on training to avoiding the straight left. becuse alot of pac's early knock outs have been from his flash left cross from the inside probably his strongest one hit punch.

Look im not sayin here that Hatton lost to the southpaws he won against all of them.

That wasnt the point i was making.

Hardly any of the Southpaws Hatton faced was close to the skills and speed and footwork that Pacman has in his arsenal.

Yet the Hatton fans feel that Hatton will stop Pacman when Ricky has not stopped one Southpaw he has faced.

Why as like someone said his Power isnt there because of the southpaw stance is out of reach of Hattons power.
And if Hatton cant stop or get to Pacman to hurt him then Pacman will pile on the rounds.
It will go on and on and Ricky will get desperate.

    Then Bang
Pacman outclasses a impatient Ricky TKO 10 or 11.

Every true Hatton fan knows that Hatton style is not effective against Southpaws.

I know you should know it.

Pacman will do exactly what PBF did.

but maywether is training him. and he knows how to train for a slick fighter. and pac isnt as slick and mobile as some like to belive. hatton has a good wide punch that can corral a opponant. pac only looks mobile becuase he was fightng diaz and DLH who they them selves took a almost lets wait and see approach.

hatton always has a punchers chance against anybody. i do think that the southpaw stance will hinder hatton quite a bit but yall are forgetting that pac hates being in the ring dirty fighters, it takes him away from his gameplan. if hatton bullies pac enough to make him angry and ergo lose his focus, it will be a very winnable fight for hatton

Yes, Hatton's chance is if he came back with his hugging/wrestling style. Pac might be surprised if he is training for the Hatton that showed up in the Paulie fight.

DLH was frustrated because he was following Pacquiao across the ring and couldn't cut off his movement. Pacquiao was too fast. Frustrated, he tried a wait-and-see counterpunching stance, a wrong strategy, because pacquiao has better experience in that department, facing master counter-puncher marquez twice.

hattons got very quick feet, he won't have any problem cutting off the ring.

I think the referee is going to have a lot to do with the outcome of this one. If it's a competent ref I think this will be a good give and take fight where both men have their moments but I think Pac's superior technical skills should allow him to take a UD. If the referee sucks and allows Ricky to use his favorite style (MMA), I think this will be a rough night for Pac as Hatton should be the stronger man and can mug and wear him down like he did with Tyzu.

The right hand Hatton hit Paulie with in the 2nd round would do damage to Manny long enough for Hitman to get on the inside and work the body.

I think Hatton will be stopped on cuts at around the 6th round in an anticlimactic fight. hatton can then concentrate on the 140 lb fighters (as he will not be dropped of k.o'd, even though we will know he would've been if not pulled out) and Manny will keep on the right track for a fight with some more big names.

Jambo, you may not rate Magee and i may have put my point across poorly. However i meant beating him on points and absolutely dominating from round 3 onwards was a very good performance. Holding his own is what Magee did with Hatton, i think he could have done the same with Whittaker for sure. Beat him, no f*****g way, go 12 with him absolutely. No one hurt Magee in his career. He was very cagey with a good chin. Tszyu may have stopped him, he may not have either. Eamonn was a wasted career in my opinio he could have done a lot more.

Collazo was a welter, i did not say a big welter. But look at the video he was a lot bigger than Hatton. And he was slick. And he lost. But the problems came from his slickness and size not his stance.

You don't have to agree, thats cool. I am not a big fan of Hatton at all, i hate the way he has feasted on lightweights and poor ones at that for so long in his career. I hate that Micky Vann reffed nearly all his WBU fights. So no Hatton goggles to remove mate, can he beat Pac ? Yeah. Will he ? No idea. But for every stylistical problem Pac poses for Ricky, Ricky will have one for him. And if you can bull Mayweather and Tszyu to the ropes you sure as hell will have Pac on the ropes.
