That may be the case but the fact remains he would have made more money than ever had he submitted to the unrestricted olympic style testing and a chance of greater glory.

 

haye's always been cocky and arrogant but hatton and khan are supposed to be the good working class guys, one a blue collar boy who grew up in manchester and the other a good muslim boy, their fakeness makes me wanna pull out my hair.

 

obviously 'hatton himself' will have excuses, he's the one who got knocked out in 2 rounds, when was he ever gracious in defeat?

and the whole thing about his punch resistance is bollocks, he has always had shaky whiskers, when luis collazo had him out on his feet, eamon maggee dropped him, lazcano stunned him, floyd hands of pillows mayweather knocked him out and pacquiao is a terrific puncher as shown numerous times.

hatton before the fight was saying how great the camp was, how he is in the best shape of his life etc etc, pacquiao would have ko'd him even if he had the stamina and fitness of aaron pryor because of the way he comes forward with his hands down his chin and lunges in.

 

I dont doubt Hatton is the kinda guy you could go for a pint with that he comes across as, but the things that grate you after a bit are.......


1 He tries to shove this " im one of the lads" persona down you throat at every opportunity, as though to garner more fans, make more money, which is fine, but how many times do have to say it? makes me start to question his sincerity after bit.

2 He does not seem to take criticism very well either imo, seemingly has a very high opinion of himself for someone who is supposed to be so grounded.

3 He makes excuses for all his short comings, now I take the point other fights do, or have done this, but when all the above things coincide, you start to get a picture of why he grates on me.

 

Hattons chin was OK, he took some big whacks off Zoo. The Mayweather KO was down to the same reasons as you've mentioned for the Pac KO...Hatton just wasn't good enough at that level, not because his chin was shaky.

Collazo had him hurt but Magee was flash KD from a southpaw and getting clipped a couple of times by Lazcano was a complete storm in a teacup over a tough, 12 round fight.

 

He barely made it out of the first round.

Truely outclassed.

And he was acting all the big man when Manny came over to Manchester and Hatton was playing him at darts in the pub acting like he was cheese.

And then in the ring - Manny showed him who really was the main man.

Hattons inflated big man of the world ego was totally destroyed by that fight.

Nobody can make themselves be loved by everybody. The more famous you become the more fans you'll have, but also the more detractors you'll get. Surely it come with the territory.

 

Hatton has a immense ego and he has a simliar ego to Maccerinelli in that they big up their own achievements and refuse to give ANY credit to people who beat them or do better than them.

 

I agree with the bolded, which grates me even more when I feel it far exceeds his talent.

 

It def. does, but too many people who are supposed to be boxing fans can't seem to measure all fighters by the same yardstick. They make their mind up on the fighter, be it Hatton, Khan, Haye, Calzaghe etc and then try their hardest to find issue with every little action/ interview.

Hatton gets it a lot, Khan gets it a lot and now Haye (who was the undisputed darling around here 3-4 years back) is getting it.

I hate Hatton. The **** is full of excuses. Blaming the ref for the Mayweather loss and the other 100 things in the Pacquaio fight. ****in fake ****.

 

Reason none of Hatton's excuses about "poor training camp" and "peaking too early" wash is because he got knocked unconscious in the second round. Now I don't care how poorly he'd prepared, he was fit enough for two rounds of action. He got ko'd because of **** technique and his refusal to box, instead of just charging at opponents. Nothing to do with fitness or the training camp.
