He has! Definitely. NOt just for his boxing skills which were awesome anyway but I just have so much respect for him for not celebrating at the end but going straight up to RIck and letting him know that he did well. Floyd, to me now, is a completely different person to who he was before the fight. He knew how much this meant to Ricky and the first thing he thought of was consoling him.

Too bad they didn't respect him or his national anthem then.

Yeah I agree with you guys. The booing of the National Anthem was not called for, but they do that in soccer all the time, so I guess that is where that comes from as someone stated before. Good fans though.

Yep. You will see in my earlier post in this thread that I said that it was a really **** thing to do to boo your national anthem but I also said that it means nothying political and all European football supporters do it.

It is only really to get under the oppositions skin

You don't need to explain to me the behaviour of European football fans as I am European. However you are wrong in assuming that it is always happening and therefore the right thing to do. On many occasions there is no such behaviour during the playing of the national anthems even before very important maches. Football fans can also be classy.

Having said that the Hatton supporters last night behaved like the worst football fans (during the anthem). It was despicable. No excuses.

Eh? I never said that at all. I said it was wrong and I didn't agree with it.

And dispicable is too strong a word. It was pantomime.

I am a Brit and I also don't agree with booing anthems. But the reaction the UK fans gave Ricky after the fight made me proud.
