Imagine how many people would attend if this fight was in Britain. I don't think Ricky's beloved City of Manchester Stadium would be big enough. I've heard talk of Ricky/DLH at Wembley but for a true "homecoming" or retirement fight it'd have to be in Manchester. Would Ricky fight at Old Trafford???
British fans can be fiercely loyal about there sport. Yea, I can believe it. Hatton V Mayweather rematch at Wembley would be cool.
If he wants to fight in manchester it pains me to say he would fight at old trafford because it would be a bigger gate. Hopefully he would fight at city of manchester stadium even though i am an oldham fan it would take me half and hour on the bus to the city of manchester stadium:happy
For enough money, possibly? Don't forget, it would be Ricky Calling the shots. It would be on his terms this time. Mayweather may not be to keen on the stain of a unavenged defeat on his legacy. He may have no choice. Just an Idea. I'm not saying its definitely going to happen by any means. I just caught mayweather mentioning it in an interview saying he would do it for ridiculous money.
There is a stadium in Vegas that can hold 36,000, that would have been a pretty ideal venue. The fight should have been held at Manchester City's stadium. Most of the tickets that didn't go to Hatton were sold to brokers, who then jacked up the prices to about 1100 per, those sold out I believe and I wouldn't be surprised if 11,000 or more Brits filled the stands come fight night. I had heard about the 33,000 British who already made travel arrangements to Vegas, hence selling out the 15,000 or so seats for closed circuit locations. If Hatton wins it will be the biggest party Vegas has seen in a long time.
Indeed, and when Scotland played France recenly in paris, there were over 20000 Scots in the 48000 stadium http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qz1AcVYOk3o&NR=1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2HlHLDVl0pg I wish i was going to LV for the fight.
can you imagine how many people they could get in a stadium for Hatton/DLH in England if Hatton somehow beats Mayweather??! They'd easily fill Wembley. British boxing is something else right now. 8 world champions. Guys like Hatton and Khan household names, Calzaghe looking at a mega fight with Hopkins, and Hayes looking like he could have a real future in the heavyweight division. It may not be quite as good as the Eubanks, Benn, Bruno, and Watson days, but it's pretty close.
