Calzaghe over RJJ is bull****, it was an exhibition fight for the most part.

Darchinyan over Mijares was the most impressive to me.

Doesnt come close to Darchinyan-Mijares or even Hops-Pavlik or Margarito-Cotto but kinda impressive nonetheless. More impressive then I thought it would be even if only a little bit more.
Probably more on par with Callabero-Molitor.

i can see an argument being made that its moreso then Margarito vs Cotto... Cotto was schooling marg for a chunk of that fight... just because it ended in brutal fashion doesnt mean hatton didnt dominate malignaggi moreso then margarito did cotto...

I wouldnte even have margarito vs cotto up there.... that was a competetive fight that became a landslide towards the end....

Not really, most people expected Hatton to win they just said it would be close. Margarito Cotto, Hopkins Pavlik, Calzaghe Jone Jr. are more definitive

Regardless...it had a definitive ending, more so then this fight.

Marga made Cotto capitulate. The towel saved Paulie because of accumulation.

I can see an arguement aswell though...I see your point but Its just how I see it.

Good win but Hop-Pav and Vic-Mijares were better as Hop and Vic were not the favourites.

Hopkins victory was impressive and will probably go down as the best performance of the year as Kelly and Bernard are big names in boxing but i think Vic's performance is the best. Pavlik is a good, solid fighter but he was over hyped to much and was made for Hopkins style in that he is slow, predictable, fights in straight lines and can't deal with anyone giving him angles.

Leading up to the Vic-Mijares fight many people, me included, thought that Vic's style was made for Mijares. I thought this fight would play out like the Mijares-Munoz fight but Vic made some subtle changes to his style, looked a lot quicker than normal and shocked a hell of a lot of people. I always thought Vic was an awkward, powerful but limited brawler and would be out classed and out speeded by Mijares. He impressed me with the view tweaks to his style (not standing so square on, throwing straighter punchers) and his speed and the fact he appeared to be using his brain a bit more.

Because of the time of Vitalis win over Peter, a very limited fighter but still no less a champion than David Diaz or Paulie Mallinaggi were, could be viewed as being more impressive than Hattons win over Paulie.

    No.

Vic over Mijares is far more impressive, as is B-hop over Pavlik and even Vitali over Peter.

Hopkins vs Pavlik was far more convincing. Also Paulie has never really been hyped up. The American media hyped the **** out of Pavlik, and he was finally found out by a bloke that was supposedly over the hill (by several years), didnt have the handspeed or the stamina. Brilliant fight and after marg vs cotto and vasquez is performance of the year.

All of these were better because they were the underdogs.
    Campbell over Diaz
    Hoipkins over Pavlik
    Vic over Mijares
    Margo over Cotto
