No, as Shane is never in the discussion of being the greatest 140'er ever.

    Hatton retired him, you fool.

A few months before, Kosta looked deadly against Mitchel - Kosta's first fight after an 18 month lay-off, too.

Hatton beat the fight out of him and finished his career.

I liked Ricky Hatton a lot and it was a good win, for sure.

However, it is fair to say that Tszyu was past his best at that point. He was well into his thirties, had been champ for about ten years and never boxed again. Hard to believe that he was still at the top of his game.

In Kosta's previous fight a few months earlier he looked phenomenal against a top fighter.

    Hatton broke him.

Mitchell was decent enough, but he wasn't a top fighter, he lost all the big ones and was near the end himself by the time he rematched Tszyu.

When they fought each other Hatton was probably hitting his prime while Tszyu was already in decline. Boxing's like that.

Still a good win, though. I take nothing away from Hatton.

You are talking about resume not division Mosley never fought at 140 because that division was weak, that's the reason Kostya was so dominant in His era and that era was when Hatton was fighting at amateurs.

Yes the same fighter that was gifted a fight in Showtime against N'dou so He can manage to get the rematch on showtime. A novice Cotto then manage to beat the same N'dou.

A fighters greatness is not based on one win, its based on his whole body of work.

Cottos body of work > Hattons.

Coming from a fan of both guys.

Secondly, we have to look at how both performed against the best fighters of their era.

Compare Hatton and Cottos performances against Mayweather and Pacqiauo. We can see Cotto handled himself much better than Hatton did.

    Did he?

I remember Cotto getting BRUTALIZED by Manny.
    Mugged by Margarito.
    Nearly stopped by Floyd!

Hattons win over Kostya > Cotto's resume is the biggest joke I've read all year.

You need to get your head examined

I'm trying really hard not to disrespect you but you're not helping.

Mayweather - Cotto went twelve rounds against Mayweather, giving him his toughest fight since Jose Louis Castillo. Hatton on the other hand was straight righted and check hooked into the ring turnbuckle in route to a 10 round stoppage by Mayweather.

Pacquiao- Cotto went 11 plus rounds against Pacquiao. Hatton was destroyed in 2 by Pacquiao. Arguably the greatest and scariest KO of the decade. A KO so devastating Hatton contemplated suicide.

You nutthugging of British fighters is not only hilarious, its embarrassing. Come to think of it, you're also a Calzaghta-rd which explains it.

Please do every knowledgeable fan a favor and shut the foc up

    No.

Re-watch the fight. It wasn't even close.

I know Hatton got sparked clean. But the beating Manny gave Cotto was should-destroying. He BATTERED him. Miguel looked like he'd been ambushed in an alley by four men (something you know of I'm sure?).

    I can't stand Joe.

Cotto won more rounds against Pacqiauo than Hatton actually lasted.
