No not fighters. Fights. When HBO itself, supposedly the biggest decision maker in the sport, appoints someone and then proceeds to make him, that's not good for the sport. All the troubles that the sport has had, come from undeserved goodwill from HBO. HBO just needs to hype the fights themselves, not "make" certain fighters, promoters or managers/advisers. Lay off playing too much god, and let things take their natural fighting courses.
Amen. It was huge when DiBella left and those things in boxing take a few years to see the results. The cause and effect damage of that to me, parallels The Dan Duva early death when Main Events was at the top. A few years later, and what force was Main Events compared to before? It's funny how the boxing media never has seemed to have any sort of pulse on the business aspects of boxing and the cause and effect factor.
