Have DeGale and Groves both moved to light-heavyweight?

Groves is down to fight at light-heavyweight on the Froch/Kessler card, and unless I have lost my marbles DeGale fought at 175 lbs Friday? Have they both moved up?

No in the same way Haye fought at HW before he fought Mormeck and Enzo

Neither of them seem to be fighting particularly decent opponents any more so I suppose they don't need to work so hard at getting the weight off.

Just seems peculiar as Groves is fighting for WBC silver LHW title so says to me he intends to stay there. Also DeGale is allegedly calling out Pascal.

@ Claypole, I thought DeGale looked great Friday, but you are right both need to step it up if they want to challenge for honours this/next year.

I completely forgot he was fighting, was it televised? I've lost interest in both DeGale and Groves, they just seem to have either waste of time "keep busy" fights or some "title" fight that is a fair way below world class.

Are they just getting line for some big payday in a fight they're quite likely to lose, like Macklin, Chisora, Barker, Purdey, Lockett etc...?

Cheers CollinsMrs, ****s knows where I read about the WBC silver then?

@ Claypole, with you 100% but he looked different gravy Friday. Admittedly opponent was nothing great but his accuracy, and especially his uppercuts were immense. Would recommend a watch just to see the KO punch. Well, I hope they realise their potential as with the exception of Froch and Ward the 168 lb class is reasonably even talent wise. DeGale and Groves both possess the quality, but need to work out what the **** they want to do. Short notice bouts every 3 months now, I mean Groves especially should be fighting in the US every 3 months. What the **** was the Sierra and Johnson bouts for? The former was supposed to expose him stateside, the latter was supposed to be a marking stick for his potential. Balmaceda, Barakat, now Alcoba? What the devil is that about?

Think they'll both move there eventually, DeGale has the bigger frame & is a little older so I expect him to move up first.

    They should.

SMW is really tough right now, while LHW is wide open.

The LHW divison is getting strong right now. I think to beat Stieglitz is "easier" than any LHW champion.

  12. degale was fighting at a catchweight of 172lbs for demer

he only called out pascal as he is struggling to get fights on tv and that fight would of been on sky ppv

  13. And because he was in canada,if he was in Denmark it would of been Kessler and if In Germany it would have been stieglitz The only other notable Canadian around the 2 weights is Stevenson who is already busy

he didn't really call Pascal out the interviewer just mentioned his name alongside a few others and DeGale said he would fight anyone after he has had 2 more fights.

Not referring to that, he said 2 weeks back he would step in for Bute.
