I’ve been watching fury since the wlad fight and I still have no idea if he is good. The guy is an enigma.
I haven't he's proven me wrong more times than I care to admit, so fully expect him to win a decision.
He's looked good against crappy opponents...but he's also struggled against these crap opponents at times...Fury fanboys think this guy is the GOAT lol...based on what? His crap resume? Looking slick against slow and stationary fighters? These fanboys like the image he portrays and his nasty trash talk...They're delusional...Fury is nowhere near the great fighter his stans think he is.
Everyone remembers Fury's peak...................this ain't that Fury. Fury has outside of the ring been abusive to his body and mind at such a level most of us don't think he's ring ready nor ever will be again.....................a fight against a man that had never even boxed looking like it did (Fury still definitely won but ugly), didn't help his cause. So yeah, we know all about Fury and what he at one point had the ability to do....................most of us believe that well has run dry, and the well can't run dry against an elite like Usyk, he's the last person (at HW) that you don't wanna be at your absolute peak against, might get away with it against damn near everyone else, but not him
To me this is still a 50-50 fight. I haven't forgotten how good Fury was (and I always picked Fury to beat Wilder) but he didn't look good in plenty of fights. He can show up in great form, or he can show up like he did when he struggled with some journeyman. Fury arguably lost to Ngannou, who then was made to look like a fool vs Joshua, and Joshua struggled twice vs Usyk. Those things are in everybody's mind even if it doesn't mean anything for the fight.
Dubois already knocked out Usyk This time it will count for real In a seriousness, Fury is going to win a clear decision
Wilder knocked him down 4 times he was only impressive in one of those fights. And those wins have significantly dropped down in quality after Parker dominated Wilder. Wladimir was 40 years old and it was a glorified sparring session with neither man hardly throwing a punch in anger. Whyte was a decent win but he'd already been stopped twice brutally once by an ancient Povetkin, and then Whyte arguably lost to Franklin in his very next fight who's not a top 10 Heavyweight. The only fight Fury really impressed me in was the 2nd Wilder fight but again how good is Wilder ? Chisora was never a ranked top 10 Heavyweight and pretty much lost every fight when he stepped up in class. I'll give Fury full credit for the Usyk win though if he wins it with no controversy, I think it's a must win for Fury to save his legacy to be honest.
This....his last fights weren,t that good( the Whyte win was good, but Whyte was badly ko,d just before by Povetkin )
If he beats Usyk, I'll give him the credit he deserves. I'm still unsure if he was ever that good though. He's always been extremely crafty at picking his fights. Also, he hasn't been in a real fight since April 22 and even that was against a Whyte who wasn't the same fighter after a trainer split. Regards his overall resume, it's not great. Wlad was slightly past his best but the fight was a complete farce to watch anyway. For me, Klitschko was beginning to figure out Fury by the end of the fight and would've won the rematch. That's why Fury was never giving him the opportunity. Wilder couldn't box eggs but has one of the biggest punches in boxing history. His resume before Fury was a complete joke and Fury knew if he could avoid being KO'd himself it'd be easy work. Chisora at his best was decent yet Fury never fought him at his best. Chisora was notoriously indisciplined back then and after the fight got postponed, he then came in massively over weight and out of shape for the rescheduled event. Easy nights work for Fury. The second fight was a complete farce. Cunningham was past his best, near 37 years old and a blown up cruiserweight. Fury was only his 3rd fight at the weight and his previous fight was against another pumped up cruiser in Adamek. Cunningham had never been in a proper heavyweight fight before Fury. Whyte was OK at his best but had previous PED convictions against him and had also parted ways with his main trainer before the Fury fight. Again, I think Fury faced a much lesser Whyte than the version which fought Parker and Rivas. That's pretty much Fury's highlights with the rest of his opponents being complete bums. It ain't exactly 'Greatest Of All Time' standards like he wants us to believe.
Seems that Fury is the pundits pick, and rightly so. He should be expected to win. This generations top heavy against this generations top cruiser. And he’s a huge heavyweight. It would be like Crawford taking on Bivol, while both fighters remain at their respective weights. I’ve seen a few people question Fury’s prep for the fight, and therefore favouring Usyk. But for me, that size difference will be the difference. I reckon Usyk edges it technically, but Fury is a very smart fighter himself, so edging the technical side won’t be enough. I hope I’m wrong though, as the Fury’s are just an unpleasant bunch.
I just hope Usyk hasnt left it too late in his career to beat fury twice and a handfull of other top contenders to cement his place as an ATG. My fear is he has as he is 37 and hes a reflex fighter. Hes got to be one of the most technically gifted boxers to ever compete in the HW division. Hes that good i wouldnt be confident of anyone from any era beating him i cant say the same about fury, but all will be revealed soon i cant wait for this one.
Legit was waking out the gym just now and dubious usyk was on the TV with Usykon the canvas from his belly shot. If that isn't the gods telling me something I Dont know what is
