He did. He didn't fancy the mandatory and thought a world title shot might be in the offing for him. Looks like he's played a blinder....
It would be great to see an all British world title fight that will likely end in a knockout. Audley can appear to lack devil and has lost a fair few fights now, but he also has that Olympic gold, won the prizefighter and is the former European champion. He's as good a challenger we can get at the moment because people know who he is. This fight will probably make bigger money than probably any other challenger. I believe Audley can win this fight.
I'd probably **** myself laughing if Audley did beat Haye, it would be exactly what Haye deserves for leading everyone up the garden path with his pathetic antics over the past couple of years. Like most people I've just lost all interest in the Haye vs Klitschko thing now - until Haye is actually in there getting punched in the face I won't believe he'll fight him.

If Audley v Haye goes ahead people should boycott the fight. By that I mean don't go to the fight or buy it on PPV. Haye is taking the **** out of the British public with this fight.
I thought Haye was supposed to be the saviour of the heavyweight division?! If this fight comes off, he will have somehow miraculously managed to make the division even more of a total joke than it already was, that's some major achievement!!
