Good for what in the UK? That's right. Boxing. It's good for boxing. I guarantee you this fight will have more international interest and viewers from the boxing community than any fight in the HW division since Wlad - Haye
Cool. I can see this just looking the hype this fight get in this board..... But that doesn´t change nothing.....They are both average fighters fighting......:conf lol
Casuals in the UK are talking about the fight, which means that the fight becomes an event. Whenever boxing becomes an event it is good for the sport, regardless of the circumstances. I don't for one second approve of the **** that happened, but outside of self-righteous middle-englanders and Wladimir Klitschko, does anyone really care that much? For all the talk of black-eyes for boxing, the only thing that does long-term damage is the end product not delivering in the ring. On paper, Haye and Chisora match-up well, and it's an intriguing fight without all the baggage.
But what about the viewers it draws in? The more viewers these type of fights draw the more promotors are going to meet those demands and we have a bunch of WWE style build ups with a bunch of ******ed mexican fighters slugging it out in the center of the ring (Rios/Ortiz). More casual fans means more rejected match ups like this: http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=399963
