He deserves credit for fighting on no doubt about it, Im sure most Boxers would of quit as soon as the ankle was too much to stand on. But he has history, lots of history of pulling out of fights and having excuses of injury and Bellew pretty much forced his hand before the fight even happened with the "no excuses, you sure you arnt injured" stuff.

Im grateful and im sure alot of Boxing fans are grateful that we got 11 rounds instead of 5 or maybe even none if Haye pulled out before the fight knowing he was injured. But to be honest im bored of it all with Haye, even though i dont doubt the injuries its put paid to Tyson Fury fights, was his excuse in the Vlad loss and after a few years on that im actually bored of it.

His body must of been too tight over the years. Too many injuries and too many excuses.

Haye deserves DISRESPECT for handpicking a light-hitting, career LHW as a KO victim that supposedly was to set him up for a gigantic PPV payday with Anthony Joshua. Once again he tried to outsmart the system without fighting any eliminators, without taking any risk. Why on earth would anyone respect Haye for fighting on with an injury versus a super light-hitting blown up LHW like Bellew?

You guys honestly think Haye (and his trainer) would have stood there on one leg for from round 5 to 11 like this were they fighting a legit HW like Ortiz or Takham? Haye would have gotten head trauma and potential brain bleeding.

Don't give Haye credit because he fights underpowered and cherrypicked opponents!

You've wasted a lot of words building a nice strawman there. Answering a point with a totally different one. He deserves credit for carrying on injured regardless of opponent. Choice of opponent in the first place is a totally different argument.

Haye has shown some heart but this only proves how mediocre Bellew is, who wasn't able to finish his crippled opponent. As for giving Haye credit, I don't think he had much of a choice because he didn't want to be humiliated and at the same time knew that Bellew was unable to do much damage to him. In my opinion, even the damaged Haye still stole 1 or 2 rounds and landed some punches, although without legs he couldn't generate enough power to impress Belew.

I still don't want to pay any respect to both men. Haye cherry-picked his opponent, promised a lot of things coming into the fight and was throwing very awkard wide punches until he got injured. I give credit to Bellew for being able to take Haye's hard punches but othen then that he couldn't finish a one-leg opponent and was acting as if the injury never happened in the post-fight interview.

I don't think he was injured before the fight. IF you **** up your ancle it's even hard to stand on it which was evident by the fight. He was working pads, moving around just fine. I think it was just a fluke injury that happend to happen during the course of the fight.

I've always disliked Haye with toe excuse, fury duck and coming back to face cherry picked opponents. But...tonight I think he finally got the point from a purists perspective. Respect to him for having a go, giving the fans a good night and being humble.
