Please spare us the bull****, he never told Wladimir that he's better than Holyfield. All he said is that he's bigger than Holyfield in terms of size.
thats one dumbass comment mate,if you are going to talk like that well what the **** is hopkins considering he lost to a nobody early in his career, look at what he has done since then rather than a blip in his career.
Yeah holy would of in his prime unless he was having one of his off nights ala micheal moorer. But if holy even dreamt he could beat haye now he better wake up and appologise, holy is done and needs to retire !!!!!!!!!!!111:good
That's one weak comment, do you even know anything about Thompson? Thompson is a very dangerous fighter who can hit hard, can take a good punch and has heart. When Haye met him he had 10 fights only, clearly too early for someone like Thompson.
Irrelevant. Comparing careers of fighters that like achieves nothing, it's such an enourmous generalisation of their respective abilities and potential to draw conclusions from one fight near the start of a fighters career. If we did that we would have written off Hopkins, Alexis Arguello, Carlos Monzon, Henry Armstrong etc.. Punch resistance, heart and recovery are three of Holyfields best attributes, so it is highly unlikely that he would have suffered the same fate. Haye on the other hand is a completely different fighter - the Thompson fight was, at that time, a stylistic and strategic nightmare for Haye. Even in the amateurs he fought like a pro and went for the KO, so Haye had become very accustomed to either getting the knockout or going the four rounds of an amateur bout. Then in the pros, up to that point he had stopped all his opponents in four rounds or less. Haye's fight preperation and stamina was woeful at the time and it showed when he went more than four rounds in a competetive bout for the very first time in his entire amateur and pro career. I don't view Haye in a negative light because of his performance on the night against Thompson, I do however, view him in a very positive light for the huge improvements he has shown since then due to lessons he has learnt.
It's a huge difference between being confident and being disrespectful, and unfortunately Haye is being the latter.
