When the WBC first bestowed that Emeritus Status bull**** upon Vitali , i said exactly what Haye just did.. He is able to retire as a WBC Living ledgend and come back and challenge for a title whenever he feels like, based on those few wins... For christs sake , So what about WBC champs of the past that retired who really were somebodies...... why didn't they get an award like that.. Mike Tyson.. he won and regained that Belt, and defended it a whole solid bunch of times.. Let ole Mikey come back and challenge for that title.. I don't really see what's funny about it actually. Mavrovic hardly won a round against Lewis and lost a lop-sided decision. The Lewis-Klitschko fight was exciting in that at no point you knew who was going to win, and he did much better than Zeljko. Certainly there's more honor in losing a competitive, exciting battle to Lennox Lewis than losing to relative nobody Thompson by stoppage. I like Haye as a fighter and think he can do good at heavyweight, but his talking gets boring. I guess it is effective though, because i'd like to see him fight and that's probably why he does it, to get more attention.
I don't mind Haye running his mouth but the thing is that the champions are (with the exception of Valuev, who is a formidable fighter in his own right) assassins. Peter is a cold-blooded puncher who can take a punch and don't be fooled by Wladimir's charm. He puts his gameface on in the ring and takes opponents out. If the champs were light hitting-counter punchers it would be easy pickings but Haye's stepping on a hornet's nest by insulting these guys.

Haye is talking smack about Vitali and completely ignores the fact that Vitali had to retire because of serious injuries and is only coming back now. If he retired because of personal choice then sure, I'll agree with Haye but he's just talking smack here to hype a future fight with Wladimir even more. As a huge fan of Haye since he was an amateur I would like to see him mix it up at Heavyweight some more before talking smack about everyone there, at least prove you're a good heavyweight as you proved you're an excellent cruiserweight.
