Now I think of it Ross Purrity's win over Wlad is very much like Rocky. Wlad was a hyped 'Russian' with seemingly all the tools to be a dominant and great champion (which he is now) and Purrity took tons of punishment until Wlad tired of beating on him and gassed Haye doesn't really fit any fighter in Rocky. He's more like Clubber Lang than Rocky or Appollo Creed but he's not a bit like Lang really
Puritty was in 1998! Wlad only 22 years old. And since 2004 Wlad has a real good professional boxing coach with Emanuel Steward. The Wlad of today can not be compared with Wlad of 1998 or 2003.

aha! Finally realized Haye's true "Rocky" tactic! On the outside, he wants Wlad to believe he will play defense using his face. When in fact, he will use the "Gladiators" ploy and use his forehead to counter a punch, and eventually breaking Wlad's hand. Either he will be forced to retire the fight, or be 1-handed!
