Similar to the Ruiz fight . Chag is too slow for Haye. Would be beaten and bloodied. I am not a Haye fan , just see a big difference in class. He looked awful against Vlad. When Skelton and Meehan take you the distance , your not on the world level anymore.
Haye by brutal KO, the fight wouldn't even be competitive. IMO only the Klitschkos are a threat to Haye at heavyweight and vice versa.
I think Chagaev takes a small decision against Haye. Too durable and elusive to be knocked out by someone the same size as him. I can't see Haye out boxing the superior boxer in Ruslan either...
Hardly the same size Haye is a good 3 inches taller , with at least 4 inches in reach . The weight doesnt matter as Chag always looks soft at 220 .
Didn't take long to reconsider my view. Chagaev looked garbage tonight, very disappointing. Too bad, the version that fought Valuev or Wlad would've given Haye all he could handle, this one however looked simply old.
Well he might not knock you out cold, but he will knock you down. He has that explosive power, the same kind of power Pacquiao has.
Talking about this fight like it's a possibilty makes you a ****. If Haye beats the **** out of Chagaev it won't mean ****. People will say he's sick, inactive and already got schooled by Wlad. He was a good amateur and an average pro in a horrible division. Stop pretending he's a legitimate threat to any of the current champs. Haye and Wlad need to fight or both **** off for good. Also, Larry Merchant is a biased old **** fanboy who knows nothing about boxing.
I seriously thought Chagaev was a legitimate threat to Haye and a credible contender. That was before tonight's fight. If you thought his fight against a 40 year old Meehan was bad you need to watch today's fight. Walker was landing one right after the next. Infight? Zero. Walker was landing and landing and landing. At times I thought Chagaev was about to hit the deck any time. Chagaev never looked in trouble of going down vs. Wlad (IMO) but tonight he did. More than once. This is how bad this was. God it was worse. You have to get this. The pitiful 500 odd audience were literally laughing out loud when Chagaev was asked about fighting Haye next. This is how bad he was. Even Chagaev's most loyal fans - the hardcore boxing fans of Hamburg - after tonight's pitiful performance knew without a doubt he's going to be like a lamb arriving at the slaugherhouse when he gets in the ring with Haye. Chagaev should face Povetkin, that would be the perfect match-up. The "Battle of the Russian hype jobs" or maybe "From Hero to zero" would be the tagline.
Haye only fought shot fighters at HW, He is scraping the bottom of, as you put it, "a horrible division". Chagaev may not be a legitimate threat to champs like Klitschkos, but Haye hasn't proved himself beyond this point yet.
Chagaev is awful. You hate Haye and that's fine, but don't talk complete ****. Haye would kill peak Chagaev. His career high was his SD win over Ruiz and MD win over Valuev. He looked awful in both. He was never that good, please stop pretending he was.
Chagaev should face Povetkin, that would be the perfect match-up. The "Battle of the Russian hype jobs" or maybe "From Hero to zero" would be the tagline.[/QUOTE] That's a fight i liked to see. Povetkin is like Chageav in many aspects, but with more power...
