how Haye obtained the belt is not an issue, a win is a win; the fact that Chagaev beat Valuev already and Wlad beat Chagaev makes the belt less credible

Haye is a champion regardless and the purse split shall factor that in
50/50 is just a starting point for negotiations with either brother

First, you ignored the German market.

Second, how could Arreola possibly be a draw? He had only fought Travis Walker and Jameel McCline up to that point. He had no exposure.

You might be right if you're only talking about in the USA, but both Klitschkos are HUGE draws in Germany as well as a few other European countries.

That's also true. Haye isn't half the draw he thinks he is and NO ONE in the USA knows he the **** he is.

Spot on! That's the real point here.............Haye knows he's not a serious draw especially in the US.

Truth be told Valuev wasn't even the WBA Champion when he lost that squeaker to haye, Chagaev already lost that belt against Wladimir. :D

Chagaev beat Valuev & Wladimir beat Chagaev = Wladimir should've gotten the WBA belt with his win over Chagaev.

Wladimir Klitschko is the recognized Ring Magazine Champion & the man to beat at Heavyweight-period.

Above all else the Ring Mag title is worth more than all those paper belts and Wlad has that title.

BTW, I agree that Wlad already has the defacto WBA belt long before Haye fought Valuev. It really doesn't matter to me that the WBA didn't recognize that fight................Ruslan was their champ & he beat Valuev already.

I can't really see them putting in the chinny brother against a guy who rocked Valuev.

If Haye has any honor (after all that he has said), he'd seriously try for a Klit fight now. He has momentum now after getting the belt which won't go up much after beating valuev and ruiz again (assuming he wins). He knows no objective fan wants Haye/Vlauev 2 and Haye/Ruiz (and certainly not haye-hopkins or haye-chagaev). Even if he lost to which ever klit he got first (likely) fans would respect the effort and so long as he did OK there would be plenty of big fights for him. There would be big money now in a Haye-Klit matchup and it prolly won't grow much in a couple of years as Vitali further ages and Haye beats up on worthless wba defenses

Listen, friend...You're a newbie, so I'm going to cut you some slack. But really, use your head. Major television networks don't broadcast fight out of the goodness of their hearts. They do it because it makes financial sense. Obviously, the Klitschkos are popular enough so that their fights can be shown on HBO without losing money. In light of the weakness of the current heavyweight division, that is not a bad deal. Really, think first, please. HB0 has decided to show Vitali vs. Johnson. Obviously, they know a bit more than you or I about rating when it comes to boxing. They are showing the fight because it makes financial sense. And odds are they would broadcast any champsionship fight if it could make them money.

:patsch haye beat the paper champion who never even won his belt back in the ring .. Hell wlad already beat the legit champ Chagaev.. also i highly doubt it would generate as much in the UK.

No way would Haye generate as much in the UK as Wlad in Germany. Not yet anyway. Haye needs to get the Ruiz fight on the BBC or some other free big network cause noone will pay for it. Increase his growing popularity then fight in Germany against a Klit. Or Vegas. Us Brits love to travel in numbers to support our sportsmen.
