Haye has a lot of speed and power. But he probably just doesn't punch as hard as Briggs or Tua or Lewis etc.
Like some have said it is rushing in and not landing clean, hard shots when the man is hurt. Take Ruiz as an example. The first right had him badly hurt, no imagine instead of rushing in and clipping him with cuffing, shots that had little extension, he had picked his shot. Imagine he had landed another flush right like the first one whilst Ruiz was still hurt, it would have been far more dramatic. Same with Enzo Mac. He was put down that heavily from a short, clipping shot after being badly hurt by the first right. If Haye had instead picked the right shot and landed bang on the chin again, it would have been lights out. The Mormeck shot was a big punch, imagine that shot landing on the dazed and wobbly Enzo.
when haye hurt them with his hayemaker maybe they dont sleep like tyson did to them but they cant fight anymore and he wins so whats the problem? even when they stand up they dont want to fight anymore cuz it hurts them too much.
Mormeck was pretty ****ed, he's been fighting tough comp since his 10th fight hence the lack of brutal ko's only **** fighters get starched like that really
tbh briggs has a bit of a highlight reel going on if you youtube him. he sparks out a lot of the guys he knocks out.
Nothing wrong with his power even at heavyweight. He hits harder than anyone in the division right now except Wlad. I think a combination of things such as the gloves he wears (mainly to protect his fragile hands), premature ref stoppages at times and just luck of the draw about precisely where you make contact with the skull are all factors as well as the number of fights he's had and level of comp. He punches harder than Shannon Briggs that's for sure. I also think he may have bingo'd Tony Dowling but have no video evidence
Haye has very hard, speedy punches... He's pretty simular to a prime Herbie Hide with who I always compare the guy. Fast, athletic, hard straight punches with sometimes a 'swing', fighting from the outside and a lot of KO's. But his punches are not comparable to compact hitters, like the mentioned Tua, Tyson, Briggs, Morrison etc who have a lot more compact build and deliver shorter more powerfull 'one punch KO' shots. It's the reason why I give him more of a chance against Vitali (outpointing him) then Wlad, who only lost from guys who can end it in one punch. Unlike the popular theories here that's it the other way round because of Wlad's chin. The guy has 28!!! first round KO's on his resume...
